De eerste vrije training is voor Valtteri Bottas vroegtijdig tot een einde gekomen. De Fin crashte met zijn Mercedes hard in de techpro-barriers en heeft veel schade dat er een rode vlag is gezwaaid waardoor de training tijdelijk is gestopt.

Wat de werkelijke schade aan de W10 is zal later vandaag blijken als de wagen terug is in de pitbox bij het Duitse team.
