Sergio Perez met nieuw chassis aan de start in China

Sergio Perez beschikt komend weekend in Sjanghai noodgedwongen over een nieuw chassis. Een stuk ballast van de Scuderia Toro Rosso van Sebastien Buemi verwoestte het oude chassis van Perez in Maleisië. Sauber krijgt de schade niet gerepareerd voor China.

Teammanager Beat Zehnder vertrouwde Blick toe: Het chassis van Sergio was er slecht aan toe. Tot nu toe zijn we pas één keer niet in staat geweest om een chassis te repareren. Dat was na de zware crash van Karl Wendlinger in Monaco in 1994! In Auto Motor und Sport zei hij verder: Er zit een gat in het chassis van Sergio en voor China krijgt hij een nieuw chassis.

Sauber scoorde in Sepang haar eerste punten van 2011 na de diskwalificatie in Australië. Net als in Melbourne profiteerde de Zwitserse renstal van de mogelijkheid om minder pitstops te maken dan de concurrentie. Zehnder: De C30 lijkt vriendelijk te zijn voor de banden. Dat kan ons nog veel mooie resultaten opleveren.
