Romain Grosjean heeft het de monteurs van Haas F1 niet makkelijk gemaakt. De Fransman crashte al vroeg tijdens de tweede vrije training en lijkt daardoor de rest van de sessie van de zijlijn toe te moeten kijken.

De tweede oefensessie op het Circuit of the Americas was nog geen kwartier onderweg toen Grosjean zijn eerste run in de bandenstapels zag eindigen. De achterkant van de Haas VF-19 brak midden in de snelle bochtensectie van de eerste sector uit, waarna het hem niet lukte om de auto goed op te vangen. Met de linker voorzijde eindigde de auto tegen de bandenstapels.

    Vanuit de onboard zie ik niet direct een coureursfout. Kan ook iets aan de auto afgebroken zijn? Heeft iemand het live gezien?

      Ik zie toch een heel overduidelijke stuurfout. Lichtjes overstuur en Grosjean gooit zijn stuur bijna in full opposite lock. Dan vlieg je er gegarandeerd af.

      Er waren meer coureurs waarbij de achterkant in die bocht uitbrak. Sainz spinde zelfs in die bocht. Andere coureurs vingen de wagen op.

      Die Haas is onwijs moeilijk te rijden, Kmag had z'n handjes ook meer dan vol om de bull op de baan te houden.

      Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat de Haas moeilijker is dan de Williams... en de Williams coureurs rijden toch flink minder schade. K-Mag zou eens een eerlijke kans moeten krijgen bij een groots team. Teamgenoot van Leclerc ofzo na vertrek van Vettel. Bij McLaren deed hij zeker 3 kwart van het seizoen niet onder voor de eenvoudig WC Jenson Button als Rookie. Daarna nooit echt een auto gehad die continue goed was om zichzelf te kunnen laten zien.

      Canson Po ik snap t ook niet... de hoogtepunten van Grosjean staan flink in de schaduw ten opzichte van zijn dieptepunten. Ik vraag me soms wel eens af hoe belachelijk goed die Lotus wel niet was als ook hij er podia mee wist te pakken.
