Robert Kubica: "Crash tijdens VT2 veroorzaakt door water op ideale lijn"

Robert Kubica heeft een verklaring voor zijn crash tijdens de tweede vrije training in Brazilië. Zijn spin werd volgens de Pool veroorzaakt doordat een Haas F1-auto wat water op de racelijn gelegd had.

Kubica kwam op vrijdag niet tot het rijden van een rondetijd. De eerste oefensessie miste hij doordat Williams Nicholas Latifi liet rijden. Tijdens VT2 keerde de enkelvoudig Grand Prix-winnaar terug achter het stuur van de FW42, maar tijdens zijn eerste getimede ronde ging het fout. In bocht 3 raakte Kubica de controle over zijn auto kwijt, waarna hij hard tegen de vangrail klapte aan de buitenkant van de bocht.

In eerste instantie wist Kubica niet wat de oorzaak van de crash was, totdat hij achteraf beelden van de crash terugkeek. "Het was mijn eerste ronde hier en bij bocht 2 verloor ik de auto heel laat op een erg vervelende manier, die ik niet begreep. Toen ik daarna echter de beelden zag, zag ik dat de Haas een aantal seconden eerder over de kerbs ging en behoorlijk wat water op het asfalt legde."

"Ik reed op de harde banden en verloor de auto op vervelende wijze. Het is frustrerend, omdat we uiteindelijk wat geluk nodig hebben. Het is voor ons geen makkelijke situatie. Vandaag hadden we pech dat ik de eerste auto was die daar kwam, maar zo gaat het. Dat is autosport. Het is erg vreemd. Ik begreep het pas toen ik de beelden zag, anders dacht ik dat er ik afgebroken was. Dat was echter niet zo, ik verloor de auto met harde banden op het water."

Ongepland zal het Grand Prix-weekend van Kubica dus pas echt beginnen op zaterdag tijdens de derde vrije training. Hij zal dan voor het eerst op Interlagos rijden sinds 2010, het laatste volledige seizoen dat Kubica voor zijn rallycrash reed.

Onzin Robert!
Voorafgaand aan je crash was al veelvuldig te zien dat er wolken opspattend water van de curbs kwamen zodra men er overheen reed.
Die curbs waren dus overduidelijk nat en daarmee dus (zoals altijd bij natte omstandigheden) spekglad.
Dáárom ben je uitgegleden en niet omdat "een ander" water op de baan zou hebben gebracht.

Wellicht heeft hij per ongeluk de beelden van de intocht van Sinterklaas gebruikt bij de analyse van zijn crash?
Anders kan ik deze kromme redenatie (zelfreflectie kan het niet noemen) niet verklaren.
