Nieuw chassis voor Sergio Perez kost Sauber 30.000 euro

Het team van Sauber heeft flink in de buidel moeten tasten om een nieuw chassis naar China te laten komen voor Sergio Perez. De auto van de Mexicaan raakte in Maleisië zwaar beschadigd door een nog onbekend zwaar voorwerp op de baan, waardoor hij dit weekend in Shanghai met een nieuw chassis zal rijden.

Alleen al de kosten voor het verschepen van een nieuw chassis naar China kost Sauber 30.000 euro. Het team is er nog altijd niet achter wat de schade aan de auto van Perez heeft veroorzaakt. "Het zou zelfs wel een putdeksel geweest kunnen zijn", verklaarde teammanager Beat Zehnder.
