Verstappen moet Hamilton voor laten gaan in eindklassement Power Rankings

Max Verstappen heeft het seizoen niet op de eerste plaats kunnen afsluiten in de F1 Power Rankings. De coureur van Red Bull Racing zag Lewis Hamilton beter scoren in Abu Dhabi en de Brit eindigde dan ook bovenaan in het klassement.

Hamilton en Verstappen begonnen met een gelijke stand in de Power Rankings aan de laatste race van 2019. De race werd gewonnen door de Mercedes-coureur, die van de vijf juryleden zijn eerste maximale score van het seizoen kreeg. Die 50 punten waren voor hem ook ruimschoots voldoende om Verstappen achter zich te houden in de ranglijst. Met 45 punten stelde de Nederlander wel P2 in dat klassement veilig.

Op ruime afstand van Verstappen en Hamilton pakte Sainz de derde positie in de Power Rankings, gevolgd door teamgenoot Lando Norris. De McLaren-coureurs kregen respectievelijk 44 en 43 punten voor hun optredens op het Yas Marina Circuit, waarmee ze voldoende punten verzamelden om in de top 4 te blijven staan. Charles Leclerc eindigde op de vijfde positie, voor Alexander Albon.

De enige nieuwe binnenkomer na Abu Dhabi is Daniil Kvyat. De Toro Rosso-coureur legt daarmee beslag op de tiende positie in het eindklassement van de Power Rankings. Met zijn optreden in de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten ging hij voorbij aan Sebastian Vettel, die het jaar dus buiten de top 10 in de Power Rankings afsluit.

Dat is ook het probleem in de f1. Je wordt alleen kampioen als je in de beste auto zit. Als de auto’s meer gelijkwaardig waren, had hammie ook geen 6x wereldkampioen geworden...

Voor zover de Power Rankings wat zeggen, lijkt me de uitkomst terecht. Je wordt niet voor niets wereldkampioen.
Max op 2 is prima, de rest van de stand zegt me eigenlijk niets.

  Ook wel grappig dat Norris en Sainz zo hoog staan. Terecht hoor maar het zegt maar weer eens hoe belangrijk de wagen waarin je in zit is.

  Roelie, dat is de F1. Ik zie hier geen probleem in, genieg andere raceklasses met gelijkwaardig materiaal. Dat maakt de F1 uniek, of denk je dat Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull of Honda met miljoenen smijten om gelijkwaardig te zijn?
  Ik ben het met je eens dat, zeker begin deze motorformule, de verschillen te groot waren. Maar nu zie je de topteams naar elkaar toekruipen, nu de middenmoot nog aansluiten en het gaat de goede kant op.

  Mr. Marley, voordat uberhaupt de teams bij het niveau van de Benzjes aansluiten, zijn we tien jaar verder en heeft Hamilton 13 titels. Zo saai is de F1 geworden.

  Helemaal mee eens met wat ieder zegt. Echter is dit geen tabel van wie kampioen is. Dit is een ranking waar 'onbekende bekende specialisten' onderling bepalen wie de beste rijder is.
  In dat geval zou je de beste auto uit moeten sluiten en vooral niet kijken naar wat men doet vooraan in het veld.
  De uitslag is redelijk subjectief en wordt beinvloed door de uitslag en ook door waar de camera op staat gericht.
  
  Dat gezegd hebbende ben ik het wel eens met wie de 3 eerste plekken bezet. Uitzondering is dan wel dat Max duidelijk minder fouten heeft gemaakt dit jaar dan Hamilton.
  
  Norris staat vierde, maar dat is natuurlijk niet zijn plek als beste rijder. Hij heeft te veel slechte races gehad. En dat is natuurlijk niet erg gezien zijn leeftijd. Ik heb zelf Perez op 4 staan. In een Ferrari zou hij het beter hebben gedaan dan Vettel en Leclerc. Net als Sainz overigens.

  Hoekie daarom zeg ik ook dat door de huidige PU de verschillen te groot waren maar dat het nu (veelste laat daar niet van) alles meer naar elkaar groeit. F1 is een klasse van constructeurs niet van coureurs. Het "probleem " wat Roelie aankaart is van alle tijden, alleen duurt het door de regelgeving (tokens begin 2014, en beperkt aantal componenten nu) te lang om het gat te dichten. Sorry dat ik het zeg maar als je niet wil dat er verschil zit tussen de wagens moet je een andere klasse gaan volgen. De beste auto wint namelijk altijd/meestal in de F1. Zo werkt het spelletje.
