Het derde jaar van de FIA Formule 2 sinds begin deze maand achter de rug en het was een bijzonder jaar, zowel in positieve als negatieve zin. Voor Nederland een jaar met een enorm hoogtepunt, want Nyck de Vries werd kampioen.

De coureur van ART Grand Prix wist de titelstrijd een raceweekend voor het einde in het Russische Sochi in het slot te gooien. Het moment dat De Vries kampioen werd, staat op de tweede plaats in de top 10 van momenten van het Formule 2-seizoen 2019. Slechts een veelbewogen moment staat hoger genoteerd: de zege van Anthoine Hubert voor eigen publiek in Frankrijk en zijn overlijden enkele maanden later tijdens de race op Spa-Francorchamps.

Andere momenten die in de top 10 in de onderstaande video de revue passeren? De botsing van Prema-teamgenoten Mick Schumacher en Sean Gelael in Frankrijk, de grote startcrash tijdens de race in Rusland en Schumacher's eerste Formule 2-zege tijdens de sprintrace in Hongarije.
