Magnussen geen fan van Instagram: "Vind account beheren maar saai"

Kevin Magnussen heeft de regie over zijn Instagram-account weggegeven aan de mensen om zich heen. De coureur van Haas F1 wil de app van het sociale medium niet meer op zijn telefoon hebben.

Vrijwel alle coureurs zijn tegenwoordig actief op social media. Kimi Raikkonen was begin 2018 een van de laatste coureurs die zich op Instagram meldde, terwijl Ferrari-coureur Sebastian Vettel op geen enkel medium en eigen account heeft. Magnussen heeft wel een account op Instagram, maar in gesprek met Ekstra Bladet verklapte de Deen dat hij dat account tegenwoordig niet zelf meer beheert.

"Ik had de app niet eens op mijn telefoon staan, maar ik wilde het nog een keer proberen. Ik nam het dus even over en schreef de berichten zelf, maar ik vind het saai, dus ik heb de regie weer weggegeven", vertelde Magnussen nadat hij een vraag kreeg over een foto die hij na een crash in Japan op Instagram zette. Het enige wat op die foto stond, was een poep-emoji.

Volgens Magnussen wat dat 'de beste manier om te omschrijven wat er gebeurd is'. Dat bericht schreef hij zelf en hoewel hij de berichten nu niet zelf meer schrijft, blijft hij wel betrokken bij de berichten. "Ik kon zien dat de fans merkten dat ik het ineens was, dus ik zal proberen om een beetje betrokken te blijven, hoewel het saai is en veel concentratie vergt. Ik wil die app echter niet op mijn telefoon hebben."

Ik heb zelf ook weinig met social media. Het is een etalage van “me myself and I”, waarbij iedereen probeert z’n enorme happy life te tonen. Nig niet gesproken over al die types die overal selfies nemen om weer een post te kunnen plaatsen. Ijdel gedoe waar velen alleen maar ongelukkig van worden, omdat de ander er nog gelukkiger uit lijkt te zien.
Ik leef liever een echt leven met echte vrienden, met wie je je ups en downs kan delen.

  Ik denk er precies zo over! Wat een geneuzel op social media. Om de 10 minuten checken of er alweer een likeje bij is gekomen... En door geneuzel van anderen scrollen... Samen om een bbq met paar biertjes is het echte werk!

  Mee eens dit was bij mij al bekend op de dag dat Facebook kwam, het wachten is weer op iets nieuws, de mensen komen er nu pas achter dat Facebook toch niet zo'n vriendelijke website is, incl de ontdekker van die prut website.
