Robert Kubica heeft een bericht voor zijn fans achtergelaten na bezoek fabriek Alfa Romeo

Robert Kubica, de in 2020 reservecoureur van Alfa Romeo Racing, bezocht de fabriek en stuurde een bericht naar fans.

Kubica keerde in 2019 terug naar de Formule 1 na het ondertekenen van een contract bij Williams, maar verliet het team na pas een seizoen. Kubica heeft een racezitje verloren, tekende wel als reservecoureur bij Alfa Romeo voor 2020. Het Poolse oliebedrijf PKN Oren, de sponsor van Kubica, heeft ook besloten om vanaf 2020 een aantal jaren co-sponsor van het team te zijn. Het team heeft haar naam inmiddels ook aangepast op de socials.

Kubica's bekwaamheid in technische feedback stellen de teams vaak zeer op prijs, en er wordt gezegd dat Haas en Racing Point met hem hadden onderhandeld in de hoop een contract als ontwikkelingscoureur met hem te ondertekenen.

Kubica voelt zich thuis bij Alfa Romeo

Kubica maakte zijn Formule 1-debuut bij BMW Sauber in 2006 en won de Canadese Grand Prix in 2008. De Pool, die de fabriek in Hinwill bezocht, stuurde een videoboodschap naar fans op 11 januari. "Ik ben nu in Hinwil. Het is alsof ik terugga naar waar ik mijn Formule 1-carrière begon in 2006”, zei Kubica.

"Ik ben erg blij om hier terug te keren. Er zijn nog veel mensen waarmee ik in het verleden samenwerkte. Deze keer heb ik de stoel van de nieuwe auto gepast. Ik kijk ernaar uit om in deze bolide te rijden en met het team te werken."

  Kan me nog wel jaren herinneren dat F1Racing gelekt materiaal van Williams had. Maargoed, dat zal na het verdwijnen van de post-its bij dat team ook wel over zijn... :p
