Romain Grosjean ziet geen problemen in meer races op kalender: "Het is je leven"

Romain Grosjean zal in 2020 voor het vijfde jaar uitkomen voor het Amerikaanse Haas. De Fransman die sinds de oprichting van het team al deel uitmaakt van de Amerikaanse formatie zei dat de toename van het aantal races op de kalender hem niet stoort. Liberty Media wil in de toekomst maar liefst 25 races organiseren, wat tot ontsteltenis leidde bij veel medewerkers in de Formule 1. Romain Grosjean vindt dit echter geen probleem.

In 2020 staan er, voor het eerst in de geschiedenis van de Formule 1, 22 races op de kalender en dat leidde al tot een klaagzang van enkele coureurs en andere teamleden. Dit omdat het personeel nu nog minder tijd met hun families kon doorbrengen.

Sommige coureurs en vooral diegenen met kinderen, zijn ook bang om niet genoeg tijd met hun gezin door te kunnen brengen, vanwege de toename van het aantal races. Grosjean, die zelf drie kinderen heeft- Sasha (6), Simon (4) en Camille (2) - met zijn vrouw, Marion Jolle, maalt er echter niet om: “De toename van het aantal races zal me niet echt beïnvloeden, omdat ik genoeg kansen heb om tijd met de kinderen door te brengen nadat het seizoen voorbij is."

Het voordeel aan werken in de Formule 1, is dat de coureurs doordeweeks vaak vrij zijn. "Ik hoef niet elke dag naar mijn werk te gaan, ik kan de kinderen 's ochtends naar school en de kleuterschool brengen en ze ‘s middags meenemen. Ze weten dat de Formule 1 en de motorsport nog enkele jaren mijn werk zijn vormen. Op deze manier ben ik, wie ik ben. Als mijn kinderen me niet willen laten gaan, kan het natuurlijk moeilijk zijn om het huis te verlaten. Maar het raceweekend is slechts een weekend."

2. Jij hebt makkelijker praten meneertje. Het zou je sieren je te bekommeren om de teamleden die hier het meeste last van hebben. Sterker nog, dat hoor je te doen in jouw positie.

Voor de rijders is het idd wel te doen. Voor de monteurs en mensen die alles verkassen/uit elkaar halen enzo is het toch wat zwaarder. Maar ook dan is 25 races wel te doen. Maar dat lijkt me wel het maximale aantal.

  Met wat fatsoenlijke planning en wat meer back to back races en vooruit reizen met opbouwen en de locaties zorgvuldiger indelen zodat men niet van hot naar her gereist hoeft te worden moet er toch wel een heel eind gekomen kunnen worden lijkt me

  @Maximum, voor de grote teams zal het wel te doen zijn. Maar de kleinere teams zullen meer moeite hebben.

met de budget plafonds en meer races is echter voor quantiteit dan qualiteit... kleinere teams hebben het geld niet om nu veel te investeren want daar hebben de grote bedrijven al gedaan.

  Het is idd wat makkelijker praten met een paar miljoen op de bank, privé jet ter beschikking, je vrouw die niet hoeft te werken en ga zo maar door.
  Voor een monteur doe elke maand 5000 mee naar huis neemt ligt het heel veel anders.
