In navolging van teamgenoot Alexander Albon heeft Max Verstappen zojuist zijn nieuwe helm voor het seizoen 2020 gepresenteerd. De Nederlander van Red Bull Racing heeft een aantal kleine wijzigingen aangebracht in zijn ontwerp ten opzichte van 2019.

De helm is hetzelfde als GPToday.net in januari omschreef, toen de helm al zichtbaar was tijdens de opnames van een promotievideo in Zandvoort. Grote veranderingen zijn er niet in het helmontwerp van Verstappen, dat in de basis eigenlijk hetzelfde blijft als in 2019. De belangrijkste veranderingen is het grotendeels verdwijnen van het donkerblauw: afgelopen seizoen had de Red Bull-coureur nog een blauw vlak rond zijn vizier, maar voor het nieuwe seizoen is die kleur verdwenen.

Een andere verandering heeft plaatsgevonden bij de leeuw bovenop de helm. Afgelopen seizoen was die leeuw grotendeels rood met een aantal gouden details, maar in 2020 is dat juist andersom. De leeuw is dus grotendeels goud, met een aantal rode accenten.

Een derde wijziging op de helm van Verstappen is de toevoeging van een nieuwe sponsor. Eind 2019 tekende de achtvoudig Grand Prix-winnaar een overeenkomst met CarNext.com, dat zijn nieuwe persoonlijke sponsor is. CarNext.com staat niet alleen op de zijkant van de cap van Verstappen, maar ook op de zijkanten van de helm en onder het vizier.

  Volgens mij niet. De laatste overeenkomst liep tot eind 2019, Exact is inmiddels verkocht en er was een tweet van Max (volgens mij ergens in december) waarin hij Exact bedankte voor de tijd die ze samen hebben gehad.
