De laatste fase voor de start van het nieuwe Formule 1-seizoen gaat morgen in met het begin van de wintertests? Welke coureur zit op welk moment in de auto bij de verschillende teams?

Slechts één van de tien teams heeft tot dusver niet de volledige testplannen voor de eerste week onthuld en dat is regerend wereldkampioen Mercedes. Het Duitse fabrieksteam bekijkt de situatie per dag en heeft tot nu toe alleen bekend gemaakt dat Valtteri Bottas (ochtend) en Lewis Hamilton (middag) allebei in actie komen op de eerste testdag, die woensdag om 9.00 uur aanvangt.

Alternatieve schema's voor Renault en Alfa Romeo

Verder zijn de teams behoorlijk eensgezind in de keuze hoe vaak ze de coureurs in de eerste week laten rijden. Vrijwel alle coureurs maken anderhalve dag, waarbij de meeste teams één dag reserveren waarop beide coureurs in actie komen. Renault vormt hierop vooralsnog de enige uitzondering: Esteban Ocon en Daniel Ricciardo krijgen drie keer een halve dag in de R.S.20.

Ook Alfa Romeo Racing kiest voor een ietwat afwijkend schema en dat heeft te maken met de deelname van reservecoureur Robert Kubica tijdens de test. De Pool, afgelopen seizoen nog rijdend voor Williams, neemt woensdagochtend plaats in de C39 en geeft 's middags het stuur over aan Antonio Giovinazzi. De Italiaan en teamgenoot Kimi Raikkonen krijgen daarna allebei nog een hele dag tijdens de eerste testweek.

  @PallMall: Bij Alfa weten ze wellicht al dat ze morgenochtend nog niet klaar zijn met de auto en dus dat Kubica helemaal niet gaat rijden. Maar dan stond hij tenminste wel ingepland tijdens de eerste test. ;-)

Mocht Albon hem net als Gasly in de muur zetten dan moet Verstappen daar geen testtijd door verliezen, desnoods verliest Albon een dag in zijn schema aan Max!

Andersom geld dit uiteraard niet, alle kaarten worden ingezet op Max ?

  Het gaat niet om tijd voor de coureurs, het gaat om data verzamelen. Die coureurs rijden zich toch wel in in de simulator. Data is waar het om gaat, daarom was het zo funest dat Gasly crashte. Dat is niet de reden waarom Gasly bagger reed.
