Daniel Ricciardo: "Inhalen zal dit jaar nog lastiger worden"

Daniel Ricciardo is van mening dat inhalen met de 2020-bolides nog lastiger zal worden dan vorig seizoen. De FIA probeert met een vereenvoudigde voorvleugel en DRS het inhalen te verbeteren. De cijfers bevestigen het, maar de regels veranderen fundamenteel voor het begin van het 2021-seizoen, met een autoconcept dat speciaal is ontworpen om het voor de coureur gemakkelijker te maken om tegen elkaar te racen en in te halen.

Maar Ricciardo denkt dat het behouden van dezelfde regels tussen 2019 en 2020 betekent dat de huidige situatie alleen in de winter is verergerd. "De luchtverstoring is nog erger geworden met huidige reglementen", vertelde hij Speed Week.

Meer downforce zorgt voor probleem

De bolide van Renault heeft dit jaar meer downforce dan het voorgaande jaar, dit zorgt voor meer vuile lucht en dat zorgt ervoor dat je minder makkelijk en lang achter iemand kan rijden. "We hebben dit jaar nog meer downforce op de auto's. Omdat we sneller zijn, maken we meer vuile lucht. Als je achter iemand zit, kun je dat heel duidelijk voelen. Dus op een circuit als in Barcelona zal het heel moeilijk zijn om achter iemand te blijven. Het is allemaal erger geworden", zei de Australiër.

Over een week gaat de eerste race van het nieuwe seizoen van start. Er is nog geen volledige zekerheid dat de Grand Prix van Australië plaats zal vinden. Door het coronavirus lijkt de organisatie nog in dubio.

  @messi.who.else Groot kans dat er toch een aantal races niet door gaan hoor. En andere menen gelijk gaan beledigen omdat ze een andere mening dan jou hebben is ook niet echt netjes. Geef jij dan maar eens een goed onderbouwde verklaring waarom jij denkt dat alles wel door zou gaan. Zeker nu de halve wereld in paniek is over dat virus. Of houd anders gewoon je grote mond.

off topic, ik las elders dat er geen restricties meer gelden voor helmontwerpen, coureurs mogen vanaf nu hun helmen weer wijzigen naar believen

  Vandaag gaat er ook een beslissing worden genomen om in alle auto's een 2e fuel flow meter te plaatsen. Deze extra sensor is alleen door de FIA af te lezen, en is een direct gevolg van Ferrari gate, en om eventuele andere loopholes vwb het brandstofverbruik uit te sluiten.

Als je eerlijk bent zag je dat de renault motor de laatste races enorm veel power kon produceren enkel het chassis wilde niet mee
