Romain Grosjean lanceert zijn eigen simracing-team

Haas F1-coureur Romain Grosjean stort zich op andere projecten nu de Formule 1 voor onbepaalde tijd stil ligt. De in Zwitserland geboren Fransman heeft een eigen esports-team opgericht, genaamd R8G e-Sports. De naam verwijst naar zijn initialen en zijn vaste startnummer in de Formule 1.

Grosjean heeft onder meer MindMaze, Predator, SoccerCoin en Richard Mille gestrikt als partners. De line-up van het team wordt later bekendgemaakt. "De lancering van mijn eigen simracing-team is een trots moment voor mij, want ik ben gepassioneerd over autosport, innovatie en het omarmen van nieuwe uitdagingen. Ik denk dat we een unieke teamstructuur hebben neergezet en dat zal helpen bij het verwezenlijken van onze ambitieuze doelstellingen", aldus Grosjean.

Zelf is de Haas F1 Team-coureur druk aan het oefenen om de game F1 2019 onder de knie te krijgen zodat hij zich op korte termijn aan het deelnemersveld voor de virtuele Grands Prix kan toevoegen. Grosjean heeft speciaal daarvoor een nieuwe simulator voor thuis aangeschaft.

  Zou het niet zo zien.... Veel racers komen uit Sim-racing en maken mensen ook wel beter erin. (niet natuurlijk als ze het met een controller doen...)

  Zoals ik al bij een eerder artikel poste, Esports is is goed voor meer dan 200 miljard per jaar. Dus het is best een lucratief spelletje als je het zo bekijkt.
