Jean Todt op verzoek langer beschikbaar als FIA-voorzitter

Jean Todt is bereid om langer aan te blijven als president van de internationale autosportbond FIA als dat nodig blijkt te zijn vanwege de coronacrisis en de nasleep van de pandemie. Dat heeft de Fransman laten weten aan RaceFans.net. Todt is officieel bezig aan zijn derde en laatste termijn als FIA-voorzitter en zou eind 2021 het stokje over moeten geven aan iemand anders.

In de statuten van de federatie staat immers dat drie termijnen het maximum is voor een president. Maar uitzonderlijke omstandigheden vragen om uitzonderlijke maatregelen en dus zou de FIA een uitzondering kunnen maken voor Todt. De voormalig Ferrari-teambaas voelt overigens niet de behoefte om weer een volledige termijn te volbrengen. Op verzoek wil hij aanblijven totdat de FIA en de autosport in rustiger vaarwater zijn beland.

Todt: "Ik heb straks drie termijnen als FIA-voorzitter volbracht en het heeft veel van mijn tijd, energie en toewijding opgeslokt. Het is niet te voorspellen, maar in principe eindigt mijn regeerperiode in december 2021. Eerlijk waar, ik ben niet van plan om langer deze positie te bekleden. Aan de andere kant moet ik toegeven dat ik de uitbraak van het coronavirus ook niet voorzien had. Laat ik het zo zeggen, langer blijven is geen prioriteit."

RaceFans.net meldt dat Todt alleen een beperkte verlenging van zijn laatste termijn als president van de FIA zal overwegen als daar vanuit de federatie zelf om gevraagd wordt. Een dergelijk verzoek is tot op heden nog niet ingediend.

Lekker baantje dure hotels over de hele wereld lekker eten auto onder je kont en alles op de kosten van de F1 want dat is het enige verdien model bij de auto bond

Het is natuurlijk een luie autoritaire boef met een vleugje arrogantie maar hij is wel iemand met een bak ervaring waar je eng van wordt. De komende periode wordt 1 grote ellende qua economieën en dan kan je wel zo'n man gebruiken die precies weet hoe alle lijnen lopen bij de fabrikanten en organisaties.

Niks ervan, de regels zijn duidelijk en hij moet stoppen.
Ik denk dat het ook in belang van de sport goed is als hij stopt. Ik dacht dat Todt het goed zou doen, maar dat is toch een tegenvaller geworden.
Zeker met de discutabel zaken rond de schikking met Ferrari en de illegale test van Mercedes waar hij van op de hoogte was. Ook vind ik het een heel kwalijke zaak dat hij als voorzitter van de Fia zo vaak bij Mercedes in de pitbox is te zien. Dat geeft gewoon een totaal verkeerd beeld met de zaken rond de Mercedes voordelen die er zijn.

Nou, nee hoor, is niet nodig. Donder nou maar eens op en dan hopen op een sterke bestuurder die schijt heeft aan welk team dan ook. Dus in feite een die geen verleden heeft bij welk F1 team dan ook.

Dit nieuws was eerder deze week al elders te lezen en dan kun je eigenlijk al zonder glazen bol voorspellen dat de goede onderbouwde adviezen hier weer gratis beschikbaar zijn..
