Charles Leclerc wil zich bewijzen: "Agressieve setup voor de race"

Ferrari zakt de laatste tijd ver weg. De Italiaanse grootmacht heeft na de geheime afspraken met de FIA geen snelheid meer. Normaal gesproken zit de Scuderia altijd zeker in Q3, maar deze keer was het kantje boord voor Vettel, Leclerc viel uit in Q2 met P11. Leclerc hield ook nog Daniil Kvyat op, hierdoor ontving hij ook nog eens drie plaatsen gridstraf.

Gisteren tijdens de kwalificatie was het ook nog nat, iets waar de Scuderia-bolide nog niet op voorbereid was. Het was voor Leclerc daarom een moeilijke opgave. "Om eerlijk te zijn wisten we niet echt wat we in de regen konden verwachten. We hebben met deze auto niet eerder in de regen gereden. Er was niet veel verschil. We waren gewoon niet snel genoeg."

Charles Leclerc vertelt tactiek

De Monagask gaf ook aan dat de auto niet slecht is, maar gewoon niet snel genoeg. "De balans was niet zo slecht. Een beetje lastig om hem in de regen te besturen, maar dat is normaal. Ik heb voor deze race een behoorlijk agressieve setup gekozen. Voor droog is het ideaal, maar niet voor nat."

De Scuderia-coureur vertelde tenslotte nog zijn tactiek die hij voor de tweede race in Oostenrijk gaat gebruiken. "Ik zal proberen zo agressief mogelijk te zijn en zoveel mogelijk posities te winnen in de eerste paar ronden. Daarna zal het moeilijk zijn, omdat we niet snel genoeg zijn in sector 1 om in te halen."

  En hij komt er ook nog mee weg. Hij had zeker 3 plaatsen gridstraf verdiend en 2 strafpunten op zijn licentie. Met alles wat ie gedaan heeft wat niet mag heeft ie maar 1 straf, 3 plaatsen op de grid en 2 licentie straf punten, gekregen. Heel erg mild.
