Daniel Ricciardo: "Relatie tussen mij en Abiteboul is prima"

Daniel Ricciardo houdt vol de relatie tussen hem en zijn huidige teambaas Cyril Abiteboul prima in orde is. Nadat bleek dat de Australische coureur voor 2021 naar McLaren verhuist, gaf een verklaring van Renault aan dat Abiteboul de loyaliteit van Ricciardo in twijfel trok.

De Renault-teambaas zei hierover: "In onze sport en vooral in de huidige buitengewone situatie, zijn wederzijds vertrouwen, eenheid en toewijding meer dan ooit cruciale waarden voor een fabrieksteam."

Ricciardo vertelde Channel 4 dat hij het niet persoonlijk opvatte. Hij heeft erover gesproken met Abiteboul: "Ik was op de hoogte van enkele artikelen, maar ik heb sindsdien met hem gesproken. De wind is laag liggen en alles is prima tussen hem en mij. Het is denk ik ook de competitieve geest. Die zie je niet alleen in de coureurs maar ook in de teams. Als ze ergens in geloven en je iets wilt, kom je ergens in botsing."

Vergelijkbare situatie bij Red Bull

Ricciardo zei dat de situatie vergelijkbaar is met 2018, toen hij halverwege het jaar tekende bij Renault voor de seizoenen 2019 en 2020.

"De schok van het nieuws zorgt soms voor flinke klappen, maar naarmate de tijd verstrijkt gaat iedereen gewoon weer aan het werk. Dat is wat we nu gaan doen."

    Dat het vergelijkbaar is met de situatie zoals die was bij RBR , dan gelooft iedereen dat.
    Maar een echte relatie bouw je niet op in 1 jaar tijd.
    Lijkt erop dt RIC erg vertrouwt op zijn uitstraling , wat betreft zijn positie in het team.

      Dat wordt lachen gieren en brullen met Norris in één team, maar als de helm opgaat dan gaan ze voor de podiumplekken.. ik geloof er echt in en ik vind het een prachtig rijdersduo!
