Red Bull geeft Max Verstappen extra vleugels voor Hungaroring

Komend weekend is de derde Grand Prix van het seizoen. Hiermee volbrengt de F1 de zogenoemde 'triple header', drie Grands Prix achtereenvolgend op elkaar. Het zijn fysiek en mentaal zware weken voor iedereen die bij de sport betrokken is, vooral in de paddock. Monteurs en engineers mogen niet naar huis reizen en moeten in hun 'bubbel' blijven.

Na de twee snelle Grands Prix op de Red Bull Ring in Oostenrijk is het nu de beurt aan het korte en bochtige circuit in Hongarije. De Hungaroring was vorig jaar de plek waar Max Verstappen zijn eerste pole position uit zijn carrière wist te halen.

Updates RB16 Hongarije

Dit jaar hopen Verstappen, Honda en Red Bull Racing dat opnieuw te bewerkstelligen. Door de achterstand op Mercedes zal er veel goedgemaakt moeten worden maar hier wil het Oostenrijkse team alles aan doen. Teambaas Christian Horner heeft al aangegeven dat alle updates meteen op de auto zullen komen om te kijken of ze daadwerkelijk effect hebben.

F1-journalist Albert Fabrega plaatst op zijn twitter een foto van een update van de RB16. Er is een extra T-wing aangebracht op de wagens van Verstappen en Albon, om zo meer downforce te genereren.

    Nu die Honda engine nog wat verder open en dan maar hopen op een p2 komende zaterdag, dan mag Bottas proberen om Max voorbij te komen op dit circuit, zien we tenminste nog een beetje racen.

    Meer downforce nodig, dus meer motorvermogen. Kijken of Honda op lagere hoogte met de nieuwe turbo beter presteert. Verder las ik dat de MGU-K op het Oostenrijkse circuit niet optimaal opgeladen kon worden door de eigenschappen van dat circuit. Een issue wat Honda in ieder geval had en waardoor ze dus minder lang de extra 160pk aan extra vermogen konden gebruiken.
    Ben benieuwd dus of het gat op de Hungaroring minder gaat zijn.

      Dat verklaart ook waarom de 1ste sector in de vrij trainingen en kwalificatie goed waren tov Mercedes maar ik de race niet. Batterijtjes waren op na 1 rondje..

      Die problemen met het opladen hebben ze al sinds hun toetreding in 2015. Vorig jaar was het aardig opgelost, veranderen ze de turbo weer zodat de problemen terugkomen :-(

      Ik heb het wel over de MGU-H. MB kan hiermee het tekort aan remenergie veel beter compenseren.

    Het was eigenlijk al wel een beetje zo van eerst zien en dan geloven, sinds dit jaar is dat gevoel toch wel veel sterker geworden. Voorlopig lopen ze weer achter de feiten aan en ben ik bang dat het dit jaar weer niet veel meer dan een dagsuccesje gaat wordt.
    Denk ervan wat je wil, met enkel positief denken komen ze bij Red Bull geen steek verder.
