Honda denkt dat Verstappen hoge ogen kan gooien straks

Ook de Japanners van Honda denken dat Red Bull Racing en Honda sterk voor de dag kunnen komen tijdens de Spaanse Grand Prix van vandaag.

Max Verstappen heeft op de startgrid te maken met bijzonder veel Mercedes-geweld om zich heen: twee Mercedessen voor hem en in zijn spiegels zal Verstappen twee 'roze-Mercedessen' zien; De Racing Points van Stroll en Perez.

Toch is Honda tevreden met het weekend tot nu toe. Toyoharu Tanabe van Honda zegt dat de Japanse motorleverancier zich allerminst hoeft te schamen. Hij heeft hoge verwachtingen van de race.

"Drie van onze vier auto's starten in de top tien en dat is geen slecht resultaat. Max Verstappen is zoals gewoon weer erg sterk en scoort met deze derde startplek zijn hoogste positie op de startopstelling tot nu toe in zijn loopbaan."

Met Alexander Albon op de zesde plaats verwacht Tanabe dat ook hij voor een sterke race kan zorgen, vanmiddag tijdens de Spaanse Grand Prix. Ook de op de tiende plaats startende Pierre Gasly in de Alpha Tauri zal sterk voor de dag kunnen komen tijdens de race, besluit de Japanner.
