F1-fans blijven Grand Prix op Zandvoort trouw: slechts 5% wil kaartje terug

Slechts 5 procent van de mensen die een kaartje kochten voor de afgelaste Dutch Grand Prix op het circuit van Zandvoort heeft zijn geld teruggevraagd. Dat zei directeur Robert van Overdijk bij de presentatie van de nieuwe titelsponsor van het vernieuwde circuit in de duinen.

"De mensen die de behoefte voelden hun kaartje in te leveren hebben hun geld teruggekregen. Die kaarten waren overigens in no time weer verkocht, dus we hebben een uitverkocht huis. Het geeft aan dat er nog steeds heel veel vertrouwen en enthousiasme is over de terugkeer van de Formule 1 in Nederland", aldus Van Overdijk.

Wanneer die ruim 300.000 mensen de coureurs van de Formule 1 in actie kunnen zien, is nog niet bekend. De grand prix stond gepland op 1, 2 en 3 mei van dit jaar, maar het coronavirus dwong het circuit tot uitstel en later afgelasting voor dit jaar. "We staat in principe begin mei op de kalender voor de komende drie jaar. Ons doel is de race te houden met publiek. Dat staat recht overeind. Feit is dat het coronavirus er nog is en een race met 100.000 toeschouwers op dit moment niet mogelijk is. Hoe dat volgend jaar is, weet ik niet", aldus Van Overdijk tegenover de pers gisteren bij de presentatie van de nieuwe ontwikkelingen in Zandvoort.

Het is wachten op een vaccin of geneesmiddel, zegt ook sportief directeur Jan Lammers. "We hopen mei volgend jaar een volledig evenement uit te rollen, maar dat is nu nog een naïeve gedachte, dat snap ik ook. Wat we willen, is duidelijk en dat is een race met publiek. Wat we kunnen, dat moet blijken."

  Denk dat dat geheel van de situatie rond het virus afhangt, en wat de directie zelf wil.
  Willen ze alleen de race door laten gaan met volle bezetting publiek, dan kan het lastig worden.

  Een paar weken geleden was er de kans om alsnog tickets te kopen voor de Grand Prix in 2021. Ik heb even zitten twijfelen, maar ik kan het op dit moment gewoon niet rechtvaardigen. Eerst maar eens kijken hoe de race in 2021 verloopt, en of we inderdaad weer zoals vanouds een race kunnen bijwonen. Dan zien we voor 2022 wel weer verder.

Ik heb mijn ticket voor Silverstone ook verlegd naar volgend jaar ,eens een F1 fan altijd een F1 fan, al is het redbull of mercedes of ferrari die de klok slaat ,een weekend F1 blijft de max. Vooral in Silverstone heb je geen minuut verveling

Voor wie plannen had om naar Abu Dhabi te gaan kan thuisblijven, laatste race 13 december ook zonder publiek.
Voorlopig alleen publiek toegestaan in Sochi, Portimao en misschien ook in Imola en Nurburgring (beperkt)

Nou dat klopt niet helemaal. Ik heb kaartjes samen met vrienden. Echter ik kan niet volgend jaar. iets met werk. Nu is het dus niet mogelijk om 1 kaartje terug te geven. Het is of alles of niets. Beetje hufterig.
