Jos Verstappen: "Max heeft vandaag kansen om te winnen"

Max Verstappen begint zometeen aan zijn zesde Grand Prix van België. De Nederlander start vanaf de derde plaats en heeft goede hoop dat hij Valtteri Bottas kan verslaan voor de tweede plaats. Zelf denkt hij dat de winst nog te ver weg is, vooral omdat Hamilton zo snel is.

Vader Jos Verstappen is ook voor het eerst dit jaar op het circuit. Op Spa-Francorchamps aanschouwt hij de rijkunsten van zijn zoon Max en in gesprek met RTL Duitsland ziet Jos Verstappen kansen voor zijn zoon op de winst.

Jos Verstappen werd gevraagd hoe Max kan winnen van Lewis Hamilton in zijn Mercedes: "Allereerst moet hij een goede start hebben, daar begint het mee. Daarna kan er veel gebeuren. Ik denk niet dat dit circuit zo erg banden vreet als in Silverstone, maar er kan veel gebeuren. De slijtage moeten we afwachten, maar ik denk zeker dat Max kansen heeft om vandaag te winnen."

Ik denk dat het meer te maken heeft met het idee dat het zonde is om extra motorvermogen in te zetten bij een onderlinge strijd. Als Bottas extra vermogen zou gebruiken om aan te vallen dan zou Hamilton dat gebruiken om te verdedigen, dan is dat een beetje zonde toch?

    Moeten ze wel crashen laat max eerst maar bocht 1 overleven en het dan tot bocht 5 min op plek 3 anders zijn ze weg

    In de kwalificatie schroefde Mercedes de PU nog een keer vol open. Maar in de race zingt de motor een tandje lager. Ik zit nog steeds met het ERS dingetje in mijn hoofd. FIA is iets op het spoor. Mocht het zo zijn dat Mercedes ERS foefjes heeft gebruikt en nu daar nu hangende onderzoeken van afziet, dan kan het mogelijk zijn dat Max op racepace Lewis echt uit kan dagen. Regen nog daar gelaten.

    Bottas wou op schroeven maar kreeg een njet van het team ,de poort is al aangepast voor de nieuwe regels ,ik denk dat max ook al met dezelfde modus heeft gereden
