Steiner voert druk op: "Tijd begint te dringen als Ferrari goede motor wil bouwen"

Haas-teambaas Guenther Steiner heeft Ferrari gewaarschuwd dat de tijd dringt voor Ferrari om verbeteringen aan hun krachtbron aan te brengen. Ferrari werd in Spa vernederd toen hun tekort aan vermogen van de motor duidelijker dan ooit werd. Af en toe waren de door Ferrari aangedreven teams 12 km/u langzamer op de rechte stukken van Kemmel, waardoor de coureur als een 'sitting duck' achterbleef. De Grand Prix van Italië op het circuit van Monza wordt komend weekend op zijn zachtst gezegd een uitdaging.

Steiner geeft een waarschuwing af aan Ferrari en voert de druk op: "De klok tikt omdat we dit jaar zeker niets aan de motor kunnen doen en ik weet niet precies waar ze zich voor volgend jaar bevinden. Ik weet dat ze eraan werken, want zoals je je kunt voorstellen, stel ik die vraag elke dag, elk uur. Ik heb geen definitief antwoord en het is ook moeilijk om de woordvoerder te zijn van iets waar je geen controle over hebt."

"Ik kan gewoon berichten doorgeven. Ze werken er hard aan omdat ze weten dat het beter moet en ik denk dat de enige manier om erachter te komen is wanneer we volgend jaar het circuit op gaan."

De motorregelgeving van dit jaar verbiedt grote updates aan een krachtbron in een poging de kleine teams wat geld te besparen. Dit heeft Ferrari en zijn klanten in een lastige situatie gebracht en de Scuderia moet voor 2021 overuren maken.

"Het zal niet fantastisch zijn, maar ik denk dat Monza zeker een grote uitdaging zal worden. We weten dat, we gaan er willens en wetens op in en we proberen gewoon het hele weekend ons best te doen om het beste uit alles te halen wat we hebben, dat is wat we proberen te doen in deze functies."

Over zijn coureurs die het Ferrari-fabrieksteam in Spa bevechten, voegde Guenther eraan toe dat hij enige voldoening voelde, maar aan het eind van de dag kun je niet al te veel plezier beleven aan het vechten met een team waarvan je al weet dat het het moeilijk heeft.

Nu is het gewoon meer een ongelukkige update die rond 2023 alweer rechtgezet is.
Gelukkig is het chassis wel goed en hebben ze aërodynamica alsmede de strategie goed op orde.
Het zijn net ff die laatste puntjes op de i en dan valt alles zomaar weer de goede kant op en staan ze weer vooraan.
Als ze Seb niet hadden gehad dan stonden ze nu alweer vooraan denk ik.

  Communicatie tussen coureurs en de muur is ook van ongekend niveau. Ze voelen precies aan wat ze van elkaar kunnen verwachten en komen nooit voor een verrassing te staan.

Maar als Steiner deze 2020 motor slecht vind dan moet Haas in 2019 ook met een illegale motor gereden hebben.
Dat impliceert dat ze ook geweten moeten hebben van bv de gemanipuleerde flow meter.
