Sergio Perez klaagt over koud weer: "Dit is nog erger dan wintertesten"

De Eifel Grand Prix is vanuit het niets op de kalender gekomen doordat de F1 een nieuwe kalender moest samenstellen vanwege de coronacrisis. Omdat het vooral wilde race in Europa, om zo aan het aantal van 16 tot 20 races te komen, werd gezocht naar Europese locaties.

De Nurburgring was bereid om haar circuit open te stellen tijdens de onzekere coronaperiode en zodoende racet de F1 dit weekend in de Eifel. Sebastian Vettel zei bij het horen van een race op de Nurburgring al dat het in oktober kan sneeuwen, regenen, maar ook zomaar 20 graden kan zijn. Het werd uiteindelijk iets er tussenin, maar koud is het sowieso, net als de mist die we zagen op vrijdag.

Sergio Perez vindt het maar niks, en dat liet hij net blijken bij F1TV in gesprek met Nathalie Pinkham: "Het is hier verschrikkelijk koud, ik vind het maar niks maar we moeten het ermee doen. Ik heb het nog nooit zo koud gehad op een Grand Prix-weekend, dit is zelfs erger dan tijdens het testen in de winter, daar is het niet eens zo koud!"
