Günther Steiner over tegenvallende motor: "Vergeet niet, zonder Ferrari geen F1 voor ons"

Het Amerikaanse Haas F1 zal gaan overwegen in het 2021-seizoen of het wil blijven gebruikmaken van de Ferrari-krachtbron. Günther Steiner zal gaan beoordelen met Gene Haas, de teameigenaar, of ze niet gaan overstappen naar een andere krachtbron. De prestaties van de Ferrari-krachtbron zijn niet zoals verwacht.

Ferrari worstelt met haar 2020-motor en bolide. De motor wordt ook geleverd aan klanten, die hebben ook problemen met de snelheid. Nadat de Italiaanse fabrikant geheime afspraken had gemaakt met de FIA, is de snelheid er niet meer. Het fabrieksteam kan zelfs de top twee niet meer aan. Bij Renault zien ze wel een kans, omdat Ferrari zoveel moeite moet doen om haar motor op orde te krijgen. De Franse motorfabrikant kan het vertrekkende McLaren dan vervangen voor Haas, die aan het balen zijn van de Italiaanse motor. Maar Steiner zegt dat Haas "geduld" nodig heeft. "De mensen bij Ferrari legden me uit dat ze niet genoeg tijd hadden om de motor aan te passen aan de veranderingen in het motorreglement eind vorig jaar", vertelde hij aan Sport1. "We hebben nog steeds geduld, maar als de motor volgend jaar niet beter wordt, zullen ze nieuwe uitleg moeten geven."

Het probleem bij Haas is, ze maken gebruik van veel spullen van Ferrari. Niet alleen de motor wordt ingekocht, maar ook andere onderdelen van de auto. Als het team de motorfabrikant verlaat, zal dat ook lastig worden. Alleen een motor hebben die gewoon niet vooruit te branden is, lijkt ook niet de beste optie volgens Steiner. Hij gaat rustig de markt onderzoeken en kijken wat er in de toekomst mogelijk is. "Vergeet niet dat we zonder Ferrari niet in de Formule 1 zouden zijn, dus nu moeten we geduld hebben. Volgend jaar heeft Renault geen klantenteams, maar een ander ding is dat we niet alleen motoren van Ferrari kopen, maar ook ophangingselementen met een versnellingsbak. We bestuderen echter de markt, omdat we het ons niet kunnen veroorloven dat de huidige situatie nog jaren aanhoudt. Maar ik weet zeker dat Ferrari er zal komen", zei Steiner.

Een slecht jaar en direct ferrari afvallen ,niet wijs want ferrari komt zeker terug ,ze gaan toch de redbull toer niet op zeker
