Alonso gaat in Bahrein opnieuw testen voor Renault

Op dit moment zijn Renault - protegés Guanyu Zhou en Christian Lungaard in Bahrein bezig met een vierdaagse testsessie in de R.S.18 van vorig seizoen. De renstal heeft gisteren via social media bekend gemaakt om nog een weekje langer te blijven. Op vier en vijf november gaat dan tweevoudig kampioen Fernando Alonso achter het stuur kruipen. De Spanjaard bereidt zich dan andermaal voor op zijn comeback in 2021.

De laatste test dateerde al van een paar weken terug voor Alonso. Toen reed de 39-jarige coureur in Barcelona tijdens een filmdag. Daarvoor had de voormalig wereldkampioen twee jaar lang niet gereden in een F1-bolide. De vervanger van Daniel Ricciardo moest op het circuit van Catalunya weer erg wennen aan het karakter van een F1-bolide.
