Robert Kubica racete in de Formule 1, maar kreeg een zwaar ongeluk met een rally-auto. Hij moest revalideren en maakte wonder boven wonder vorig jaar zijn terugkeer in de Formule 1 bij Williams. Helaas was dat maar voor één jaar, want het was nog iets te lastig om met een gehandicapte hand te sturen. Ook waren de prestaties niet veelbelovend. De coureur trok wel altijd fans naar de tribunes.

De Pool is nu simulatorcoureur, reservecoureur en ontwikkelingscoureur bij Alfa Romeo, en probeert actief te blijven in de Formule 1. Ook probeert hij een autosport naast de koningsklasse te vinden. Hij is namelijk ook actief in het Duitse kampioenschap DTM.
