Binotto bevestigt: "Ik ben ook afwezig in Bahrein"

Mattia Binotto heeft bevestigd dat hij dit weekend voor de tweede opeenvolgende race afwezig zal zijn. Net als in Turkije zal de teambaas dit weekend in Italië blijven om zich te richten op 2021.

Ferrari-coureur Sebastian Vettel eindigde in Turkije op het podium waarna hij grapte: "We zullen proberen hem de volgende keer weer thuis te laten!"

Teambaas Binotto legde uit dat hij zijn taken op het circuit had gedelegeerd aan sportief directeur Laurent Mekies omdat hij ook toezicht moet houden op de voortgang van de projecten voor 2021 en 2022.

Binotto: "Het is niet altijd nodig dat ik fysiek aanwezig ben op de races. Ik ben tenslotte verantwoordelijk voor het hele Ferrari-team. Natuurlijk zijn raceweekenden erg belangrijk, maar dat geldt ook voor het aansturen van het team als geheel. Het is belangrijk voor mij om een ​​balans te vinden tussen het raceteam en het werk in de fabriek."

Maar ondanks dat de in Zwitserland geboren Italiaan besloot om ook Bahrein uit te zitten, stond Binotto erop dat Ferrari dit weekend nog steeds hard moet pushen.

"Ik hoop dat de vooruitgang die we hebben geboekt in de afgelopen races ons verder vooruit zal brengen. De zesde plaats algemeen is voor Ferrari nauwelijks acceptabel", citeert de krant Blick hem. "We moeten absoluut verbeteren."

    Binotto blijft een goede ontwerper, en dat is dus niet ook een goede teambaas op locatie.

    Hij heeft de algehele leiding, als hij leiding kan geven vanuit Maranello en de juiste troepen naar het front stuurt is hij beter op zijn plek in de fabriek.

    Garage analogie?
    Je beste monteur werkplaatschef maken, je mist een monteur en misschien is deze een betere monteur dan chef.
    Beter een goede chef neerzetten en je goede monteur gebruiken om andere betere monteurs te maken, indirect heeft die monteur echt wel de leiding in de werkplaats, maar niet de dagelijkse

      Je bedoeld een goede voetbalaanvoerder maakt nog geen goede coach en andersom.

    Ik weet niet of ik het hiermee eens ben, maar Binotto is een onconventionele teambaas en lijkt een duidelijke visie te hebben - nu ik hier ondanks de huidige/recente sportieve malaise zeker de positieve effecten van zie, ben ik geneigd hem het voordeel van de twijfel te geven.

    De rol van de teambaas moet enerzijds niet worden overschat, maar anderzijds zijn er gewoon beslissingen die hij moet nemen omdat hij daar rechtstreeks de verantwoordelijkheid voor draagt. Een dergelijke beslissing delegeren neemt die verantwoordelijkheid niet bij hem weg, dus daar neemt hij een groot risico mee.

    Maar goed, Wolff is er ook weleens niet bij en die winkel draait ook gewoon door.

      Ik denk dat journalisten wel snappen dat het succes van een team niet staat of valt met één persoon, maar afhankelijk is van vele factoren. Of dat echter ook geldt voor de lezers, is een tweede... ;-)
