Alle Ferrari-aangedreven auto's langzamer in Bahrein

Het is inmiddels anderhalf jaar geleden dat de Formule 1 voor het laatst in Bahrain was. Als men de rondetijden van 2019 naast die van 2020 legt, wordt één ding heel duidelijk: alle Ferrari-aangedreven auto's zijn er op achteruit gegaan.

Tijdens de 2019 Grand Prix van Bahrein was het juist het team van Ferrari die iedereen van zijn à propos bracht door een dominante 1-2 neer te zetten. Ook wist Kevin Magnussen zesde te kwalificeren, slechts vijf duizendsten van Max Verstappen. Echter, dit jaar is het voor Ferrari-aangedreven auto's (en dus ook Ferrari zelf) een heel ander verhaal. Ferrari reed in 2020 een volle seconde langzamer dan de pole-tijd van Charles Leclerc.

Bij Haas was het zelfs erger. De VF-20 - die weinig tot geen ontwikkeling heeft gezien gedurende het seizoen - deed een nog grotere stap achteruit. Kevin Magnussen reed 1,3 seconde langzamer dan vorig jaar. Alfa Romeo geeft ook toe snelheid te zijn verloren, maar in mindere mate dan het fabrieksteam en Haas.

Het zal voor Ferrari geen fijn nieuws zijn dat alle andere teams die andere motoren gebruiken wél sneller zijn geworden ten op zichten van vorig jaar. Mattia Binotto heeft inmiddels aangegeven dat de 2021-motor van het team uit Maranello stuk betere prestaties laat zien op de testbank, en dat zal vast als muziek in de oren klinken voor degenen die er gebruik van zullen maken.

Voor zowel de strijd om de top als het middenveld, is het gewoon veel spannender als Ferrari met een goeie motor op de proppen komt volgend seizoen.

Het blijft toch belachelijk dat Ferrari alle punten mocht behouden, en er een geheime afspraak gemaakt is!

Zwarte dag geweest van alle bestuurlijke organen, want zo zie je maar hoeveel macht 1 team kan hebben, dat ook alle andere teams hiermee akkoord gegaan zijn.
