Max Verstappen ergert zich: "De radio staat constant open met verkeerswaarschuwingen"

Het tweede weekend in Bahrein ging gisteren van start. Red Bull Racing-coureur Max Verstappen had erg veel problemen met de afstelling van de auto. De 23-jarige kan dit weekend een goede zet doen om de derde plek in het kampioenschap. Over de training was hij nog niet tevreden.

De Nederlander was tweemaal tweede in de trainingen, alleen Mercedes-coureur (normaal Williams red.) George Russell was hem te snel af. Max Verstappen verwachtte zelf een lastig weekend, maar de tijden laten een goed beeld zien. Verstappen had alleen wat problemen met de afstelling van de auto. “Het was lastig op het circuit en qua balans hebben we niet helemaal de optimale set-up gevonden, vooral niet op de korte runs. De lange runs waren zeker een verbetering en zagen er best goed uit, maar zelfs daar kunnen we het beter doen.”

De coureur had eerder al geklaagd over de saaie lay-out, ook nu weer. “De baan is niet het meest leuke circuit om te rijden en omdat het zo'n korte ronde is, staat de radio constant open met verkeerswaarschuwingen voor andere auto's. De tweede sector is behoorlijk lastig en het zal niet gemakkelijk worden als we de banden moeten afkoelen voordat we een push-ronde doen en ik denk dat het eigenlijk best gevaarlijk kan zijn.”

Bottas en Mercedes

De coureur kan niet inschatten of de tijden de ware snelheid laten zien. “We weten nooit precies waar we zijn op vrijdag, maar de ronde van Valtteri is afgepakt, dus het lijkt erop dat we een paar tienden van Mercedes af zijn. We hebben nog wat werk te doen voor de kwalificatie en dan zullen we ons concentreren op het racetempo om ervoor te zorgen dat we competitief zijn, aangezien het een uitdaging zal zijn om op de voet te volgen achter andere auto's."

  Ik snap ook niet waarom ze voor zo'n korte baan gekozen hebben. Er is een veel mooiere, na bocht 8 rechtsaf terug het middenterrein op.

  @dJJeffHax, deze hebben ze in 2010 (?) als eens gereden, is ook niet echt een verbetering eerlijk gezegd. Ik ben benieuwd naar de kwali. Het wordt juist meer zoeken naar het juiste moment om naar buiten te gaan. Weer eens wat anders...

Tja, ik zat me weer zwaar te ergeren dat ze allemaal tegelijk naar buiten gaan. Gaat straks niet anders zijn. Het kan nog wel eens een verassende kwali worden. 2 keer een slipstreampie en je pakt gewoon een halve seconde.

Daarom ook even zaak om samen te werken. Laat die Albon maar een keer van waarde zijn.

Laten we hopen dat de afstelling voor de quali wel in orde komt. Of het genoeg zal zijn om Mercedes te pakken is de vraag.

  Zou me verbazen, Met een beetje geluk misschien. Maar ga maar uit van plaats 3. en met een beetje tegenstand sta je zomaar op 5/6. Maakt niet heel veel uit. Je kan hier tenminste wel inhalen.

  Dat wel maar Max klaagde dat zelfs de Renaults meer snelheid hebben hier, dus voor hem zal inhalen eerder moeilijker zijn hier (ook al zou ik dat graag anders zien).

Hij moet niet zo zeuren, hij is een professioneel coureur en zal zijn relativerings-vermogen flink moeten aanspreken om deze klus te klaren. Hij wil toch wedstrijden en kampioenschappen winnen. Hup, gewoon de schouders eronder en niet zoals zovele jongeren tegenwoordig gaan jammeren als het even wat tegenzit.

Ik denk dat het echt een leuke race gaat worden op deze rare baan. Het zit dichter bij elkaar omdat er gewoon bijna geen langzame bochten zijn waar je veel tijd kan winnen. En natuurlijk rookies die met blauwe vlaggen te maken gaan krijgen.

Wel leuk voor het publiek zo,n baantje , Max houdt ook niet zo van Monaco , meer een type voor spa, silverstone , suzuka... maar mn oma wist het al, niet zeuren jongen, lievere koekjes worden niet gebakken... Wordt tijd dat jos dat verwende gedrag is aanpakt.. 😂😂
