Deze sets banden hebben de coureurs over voor de Grand Prix van Sakhir

Niemand weet hoeveel pitstops er nodig gaan zijn voor de snelste strategie voor de Grand Prix van Sakhir. Dat is waarom de teams enigszins conservatief zijn geweest met het gebruiken van zachte banden tijdens de trainingen en kwalificatie. Teams hebben nog twee, drie of zelfs vier setjes zacht rubber over per coureur.

Interessant om te zien is dat beide Mercedes-coureurs het minste aantal setjes zachte banden hebben. Aan de andere kant zijn zij de enige coureurs die op de gele medium-banden zullen starten. Valtteri Bottas is van mening dat zij qua strategie goed zitten, maar de werkelijkheid is dat niemand dat écht weet. Zie hieronder hoeveel banden de coureurs nog per set tot hun beschikking hebben voor de Grand Prix van Sakhir.

    Lastig. Max start op zacht. Sowieso 2 stopper lijkt mij. Kort baantje met veel rondes. Mercedes kan Red Bull strategische pareren met beide coureurs. Eerst maar de openingsrondes afwachten

      Banden slijten op deze lay-out niet zo snel als vorige week. Dus misschien gewoon een 1 stopper?

      Ben juist wel blij dat Max (weliswaar noodgedwongen) op de softs moet starten. Op deze manier is de kans het grootst dat de focus bij RBR volledig op hun eigen tactiek ligt zonder rekening te houden met die van Mercedes, waar hij dit seizoen (zelfs vorige week nog) al meermaals over geklaagd heeft. Hamilton is er niet bij en dat scheelt gewoon een slok op een borrel, dus uitgaan van eigen kracht, en gewoon alles of niks dit keer.

      @ schwantz En ik dacht nog wel dat ze Max die laatste stop lieten maken, omdat het er dan beter uitzag voor Albon. Maar die werd in die paar ronden alweer op ruim 30 seconden gereden ;-)

      Hij heeft nog een setje hard en medium. Daarmee kan hij wel een alternatieve strategie doen. Soft - Hard en eindigen op Medium. Valtri en George zullen wel ook gezien wat ze nog over hebben gewoon voor Medium - Hard gaan.

      Op zo n kort rondje is de pitstop tijd overigens wel dodelijker. Ligt er maar net aan welk gat Max heeft, maar stel hij kan snel voorbij de mercedesen op soft, dan zal ik als ik hem was ook ervoor gaan, die softs en hards afraggen en t laatste deel op een goed gerubberde baan die mediums eronder.

      @benetton, maakt toch geen reet uit. Als je 20 sec voor ligt lig je er 20 voor of die baan nou 3 km of 80 km lang is. Het is hooguit lastiger om veel sneller te zijn dan de rest maar dat ligt meer in de aard van de baan dan de lengte.

    Dus één nieuwe witte harde band en één mediums voor Max. Ben benieuw wat Mercedes doet na hun mediums. Ze hebben beiden één harde band nieuw.

    Wat ik jammer vind en mis, top tien waar ze op starten.

      Ja inderdaad @Snailer, maar dit kan de F1 na de kwalificatie wel laten zien. Na de laatste sessie, zie je alleen waar ze mee gereden hebben om Pole te pakken. En dus niet wat ze met Q2 gedaan hebben.
