Red Bull Racing-coureur Max Verstappen pakte met een minimaal verschil pole position. Het was de eerste niet Mercedes-pole op Yas Marina sinds 2013, ook was het de eerste pole position van een niet Mercedes-motor in 2020. Hieronder zie je het verschil in de Q3-ronde en de FP3-ronde:
