Fernando Alonso is nog niet helemaal 100 procent

Fernando Alonso is weer helemaal terug in de Formule 1, maar de Spanjaard had weinig kans om aan het scherpe einde van de Grand Prix van Bahrein van 2021 te schitteren met een Alpine die voorbestemd lijkt voor de achterkant van het middenveld.

Het Alpine-team van vandaag staat ver af van het vroegrijpe Renault-team van 2005 en 2006 met wie de veteraan zijn twee F1-titels won.

Maar voorlopig neemt Alonso de schuld op zich: "Ik heb nog steeds geen 100 procent. Ik heb een aantal duels gewonnen, maar andere niet en ik heb wat meer ritme en zelfvertrouwen nodig om het meeste uit de remmen, de acceleratie en de auto te halen. Ik heb veel ruimte voor verbetering. Ik maakte kleine foutjes, zoals het niet goed uitvoeren van mijn tweede pitstop."

Niettemin zag Fernando de positieve kant van zijn eerste weekend terug in de F1: "Het was toch een goede racedag voor mij. Voor het volkslied, de formatieronde, de grid. Er waren moeilijke momenten, die eerste ronden, vechten met de andere auto's, de adrenaline. Ook al vecht je met de auto's voor je, je hebt de energie, het laat je hart snel kloppen. Het is jammer om niet langer op de baan te zijn en de race uit te rijden, waardoor het niet mogelijk was om in de punten te finishen."

Reed toch aanzienlijk beter dan Ocon rond voor dat boterhamzakje in de remmen dus prima rookiedebuut. Je kan zien dat die rookietests echt vruchten afwerpt. Mazepin die m niet gehad heeft was de enige rookie die m in de muur hing.
