Daniel Ricciardo heeft spijt van aanval op social media-afdeling van F1

McLaren-coureur Daniel Ricciardo heeft zich verontschuldigd voor de harde bewoordingen die hij gebruikt heeft in een aanval op de social media-afdeling van de Formule 1. De Australiër noemde de medewerkers van die afdeling een 'stelletje idioten' omdat ze in zijn ogen te veel aandacht schonken aan crashes en te weinig aandacht besteedden aan positieve verhalen.

Daarin is hij met zijn toon te ver gegaan, vindt Ricciardo. "Ik had mijn woorden beter moeten kiezen en ik ben te agressief van leer getrokken. Ook al ben ik van mening dat die uitspraak misschien uit zijn verband wordt getrokken, had ik kunnen weten dat de media dit eruit zouden pikken. Daar had ik beter mee om moeten gaan. Als ik die quote terug zou kunnen nemen, zou ik dat zeker doen."

Het neemt echter niet weg dat de kern van zijn betoog overeind blijft. Ricciardo vervolgt: "Als we dat buiten beschouwing laten, denk ik dat er vorig jaar mooiere verhalen te delen waren dan crashes. Er waren veel verschillende podiumklanten, er waren veel opwindende races, het was een prachtig jaar voor de Formule 1. Het was alles behalve een saai seizoen."

"Dan zouden ze meer ruimte moeten geven voor de individuele prestaties die eruit schieten en spectaculaire inhaalacties, vind ik. In mijn ogen zou de Formule 1 dat beter kunnen doen, we zijn beter dan slechts voer voor ramptoeristen opdienen. Ik snap dat de dramatiek van een crash veel reacties oproept, maar de nadruk zou wat mij betreft op de hoogtepunten moeten liggen."

Niet je keutel intrekken Daniel, Je had gewoon gelijk ook. Heel dat F1 overdreven gedoe en dat overdrijf to survive is bagger. Gewoon bij je standpunt blijven.

  wat een slappe lul. eerst maar wat uitkramen en er dan weer op terug komen, was van tevoren te verwachten. Wat is dat überhaupt tegenwoordig met artiesten/ sporter en politici? eerst wat stoms zeggen of de fout ingaan en dan maar roepen "ja sorry, had zo niet gemoeten". word er wel wat schijtziek van.
