Lewis Hamilton snelste op de vrijdag: "Voelde zoals vorig jaar"

Sir Lewis Hamilton was vrijdag het snelste in zijn Mercedes tijdens de tweede vrije training voor de  Grand Prix van Portugal. Daarmee is sneller dan Max Verstappen in de Red Bull. 

Hamilton is vrijdagavond dan ook tevreden, maar had net als alle andere coureurs last van weinig grip en veel wind.

Lewis vertelt: “Iedereen was een beetje aan het glijden vandaag. Ik denk dat iedereen wat meer aan het worstelen was met de balans. Het is dus moeilijk te zeggen of het nu aan de wind, de auto of de baan lag. Het is hoe dan ook een uitdaging om de auto op de baan te houden. 

De snelle Brit vervolgt:  “Het voelt over het algemeen hetzelfde aan zoals vorig jaar toen we hier kwamen met te harde banden. We komen hier dit jaar met ongeveer dezelfde banden of zelfs nog harder. Het voelt alsof we met te harde samenstelling qua rubber hier rijden, ik ben van mening dat we een wat minder harde band hadden moeten hebben, maar we komen er wel doorheen.”

Vorig jaar wist de snelle Brit de Grand Prix van Portugal, op het circuit nabij Portimâo, op zijn naam te schrijven.

      @Marcio: Hij kan het ook best over de auto hebben.... Als die hetzelfde voelt en presteert als vorig jaar, zegt dat niets over dat de rest wel zou kunnen inpakken... Als de rest een stap meer heeft gemaakt met hun auto, hoeven ze nog niets in te pakken...

    Wat mij hogelijk verbaast: de snelste in de longruns was niet Hamilton, niet Verstappen, niet Bottas en niet Perez maar Charles Leclerc. (gemiddeld 1.23.192)
    Daar had ik nu niet echt op gerekend.

      @ delange: Over de long run neem je een gemiddelde tijd, niet die van één ronde. Verstappen heeft misschien wel een ronde 1.22.9 gereden, maar gemiddeld was Leclerc dus sneller dan Max. Ik was ook verbaasd toen ik het las. Hamilton was zelfs vierde daarbij.

      @RogerZzzz: IK wist ook niet wat ik zag, maar het is echt zo. Ik had niet gedacht dat die Ferrari dat kon.

      Bottas: 1.23.242
      Perez: 1.23.455
      Verstappen:1.23.481
      Hamilton: 1.24.075

      Max draaide een gemiddelde tijd van 1.22.9 gemeten over 8 ronden op 10 ronden oude mediums, en was daarmee het snelste voor wat het waard is.

      @cherokee inderdaad...ik ben fout zie ik na wat opzoekwerk. Ik dacht gezien te hebben datmax een gemiddelde had van 1.22.9 over 8 rondjes. Ik weet het ff niet meer. Zo hadden Lecl en gasly ook de beste longruns in Italië.......hhhmmzzz.

      Ik dacht ook 1.22.9 na 8 ronden en dat was gemiddeld terwijl hij na 3 of 4 rondjes op een gemiddeld zat van 1;23;4 en toen zat hij duidelijk in verkeer.
