"Nieuwe motordeal geeft Red Bull Racing een uniek voordeel over elk ander team"

Red Bull Racing heeft de zogeheten intellectual property van het Honda Formule 1-project vanaf 2022 overgenomen. Hoewel deze overnamen het team uit Milton Keynes volledig technische controle biedt, is Ed Straw - Formule 1-columnist bij The Race - van mening dat er hier nog een bijkomend voordeel bij komt kijken. Dit voordeel kan ervoor zorgen dat het team vanaf 2025 nóg een stap voorwaarts ten opzichte van de rest kan zetten.

Ed Straw voorspelt dat het Red Bull-team vanaf 2025 een "uniek voordeel zal hebben". Dit voordeel komt nog bovenop het feit dat Red Bull dan eindelijk totale controle heeft over krachtbron en chassis. De aard van dit voordeel schuilt in de veelzijdigheid hoe Red Bull dit krachtbron-programma kan opzetten. "Red Bull zal op den duur een veel veelzijdiger krachtbron-programma hebben dan hun directe competitie", zo vertelt Straw. "Ze zijn niet gebonden aan een krachtbron-producenten."

"Deze kameleontische kwaliteit brengt het team in staat om het krachtbron-programma te personaliseren naar de eisen van welke toekomstige krachtbron-partner dan ook", zo vertelt Straw verder. Volgens de columnist maakt dit het programma erg aantrekkelijk voor deals en partnerships.

"Als Red Bull een partnerproducent aantrekt, is het instaat om alles aan te bieden reikend van een badging-deal in ruil voor cash, tot een volledige geproduceerde krachtbron - en alles daar tussenin. Dit geeft het programma aanzienlijke technische en commerciële flexibiliteit", zo concludeert Straw.

dat is absoluut een feit en zal zeker ook met open armen ontvangen worden! kennis is macht en gezien het feit dat er geen technische mensen van RB over kunnen stappen omdat ze er simpelweg nog niet zijn is het een mooie eenrichtingsweg! ik denk dat RB hier best een voordeel kan hebben maar het is zoals met alles elk voordeel heeft ok zijn nadeel , je beste vriend kan immers je ergste vijand worden

Zien we over 4 jaar wel. hopenlijk hebben ze dan geen dominante motor als Mercedes in 2014. Daar zit helemaal niemand op te wachten. Behalve RB en de rijders dan. Wat wel een voordeel kan zijn is dat je nu echt alles onder 1 dak maakt. Dat is gewoon slim.

Eerst maar afwachten wat de nieuwe motor reglementen gaan worden met de beperkingen en standaardisatie wat de Fia gaat opleggen. De vrijheid die ze vanaf 2014 tot nu hebben gaat niet meer gebeuren voor de teams

  @hondamp4/4 Ik begrijp het ook niet helemaal. Heb deze twee alinea's goed gelezen. Ze hebben nu een Honda-motor. Vanaf volgend jaar is dat dezelfde Honda-motor die niet meer wordt 'ontwikkeld'.
  Vanaf 2025 is er dan weer een nieuwe motor. Dus dan gaat het niet over de huidige motor. Ik zie het voordeel dat ze hebben ook niet (behalve dan het financiële voordeel als ze een motor laten badgen)? Zou je het kunnen toelichten?
