Mercedes zou Ralf Schumacher in het racestoeltje moeten zetten naast Lewis Hamilton, dat meent Ralf Schumacher.

Op de "middellange termijn" zou de 23-jarige Russell beter renderen dan Valterri Bottas bij Mercedes. Dat zegt Ralf Schumacher tegen Sky Deutschland.

Het lijkt Ralf overigens geen goed idee om een dergelijke rijderswissel nog tijdens dit seizoen te doen.

Ralf Schumacher: "Daarvoor zou hij extreem slecht moeten presteren, maar dat doet hij niet. We hebben gezien aan Ricciardo bij McLaren en Perez bij Red Bull dat het heel moeilijk is om snel aan te passen aan een nieuwe auto."

Schumacher komt met een ongevraagd advies voor Toto Wollff bij Mercedes. "In de middellange termijn zou ik George Russell in de Mercedes zetten. Ik denk dat hij het beter zou doen dan Valterri Bottas. Natuurlijk vanwege alle achterstand zal het voor Valterri niet makkelijk worden."

Sebastian Vettel

Een andere coureur die zich op een figuurlijke rotonde zou bevinden waarbij uiteindelijk een afslag gekozen dient te worden, is Sebastian Vettel, zo meent Schumacher.

Ralf Schumacher: "Zijn taak is om de komende races te zorgen dat hij zijn teamgenoot domineert. Als een viervoudig wereldkampioen moet hij dat voor elkaar krijgen. Als hij niet duidelijk sneller is en het team niet naar voren weet te stuwen, dan zou hij zichzelf de vraag moeten stellen of het allemaal nog wel zin heeft zo."

Schumacher voegt daar nog aan toe: "We zijn echter nog niet op dat punt aanbeland. We zouden hem nog twee of drie races moeten geven."

Ralph mag voor mijn part een potje gaan kaarten met Villeneuve in Monaco.
We plaatsen een microotje aan tafel en kunnen er gelijk gaan "broadcasten"
Karten of andere motorische sporten daar zijn ze hun "mojo" al lang kwijt :D

  Na al die jaren weet je nog toch wel dat ie Ralf heet? Waarom dan continu Ralph schrijven? Ik wil niet zeuren maar ik snap die dingen gewoon niet zo goed. Het is op zich niet heel moeilijk om iemands naam goed te schrijven.

  Het was een jongen met een behoorlijk pokdalig gezicht, hij deed me meer denken aan Lieutenant Castillo van Miami Vice

We hebben vorig jaar ook gezien dat Russell niet zo veel moeite bleek te hebben om zich snel aan de Mercedes aan te passen!

  Er was ook nog zo´n mannetje in 2016 die 18 was en zich redelijk snel aanpaste in de eerste race bij een nieuw team. Dit is inderdaad de trend van dit jaar. Het lijkt wel een 1 of andere kleuterschool opleiding ipv F1.
