Raikkonen kritisch op zichzelf en team: "We verwachten meer van onszelf en auto"

Alfa Romeo-coureur Kimi Raikkonen is blij met zijn eerste punt in de Grand Prix van Azerbeidzjan, maar vindt dat er meer in het vat zit. De zelfkritische Fin zei tegenover Speedweek: "Natuurlijk was het positief om een punt te scoren, maar we verwachten meer van onszelf en de auto."

Om opnieuw in de top tien te finishen, wordt geen makkelijke opgave. De veteraan verwacht tijdens de Grand Prix van Frankrijk een spannende strijd. "Het middenveld zicht dicht bij elkaar. De verschillen zijn marginaal. Het verschil van een plaats in de top tien of daar buiten is klein."

Zijn teamgenoot Antonio Giovinazzi, die een punt scoorde in de stratenrace van Monaco, ziet ook dat er meer potentie is. "We weten dat we stappen vooruit gaan. We hebben een normaal weekend nodig waarin we laten zien hoe goed we echt zijn. Op Paul Ricard is dat zeker mogelijk", zei de 27-jarige Italiaan.
