België staat maximaal 75.000 fans per dag toe langs Spa-Francorchamps

De Belgische regering heeft toestemming gegeven om de Grote Prijs van België 2021 te organiseren, met de mogelijkheid om per dag 75.000 toeschouwers te ontvangen. De toeschouwers mogen echter enkel het circuit betreden na het tonen van een 'Covid Safe Ticket'.

Het Covid Safe Ticket is een certificaat dat beschikbaar is voor onderdanen van de Europese Unie, Zwitserland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk.

Om zo'n ticket te krijgen moeten bezoekers aan één van deze vier voorwaarden voldoen:

- Of men moet minimaal twee weken geleden volledig gevaccineerd zijn (dus inclusief een tweede prik als de prik dit voorschrijf)

- Of men moet in het bezit zijn van een negatieve PCR-test die uiterlijk 72 uur vóór de aanwezigheid op het circuit werd afgenomen. Dat betekent dat een test dus tijdens het evenement kan verlopen.

- Of men moet in het bezit zijn van een negatieve RAT-test, ook wel 'antigeentest' genoemd. Die test moet zijn afgenomen door een gezondheidsprofessional. Deze test moet maximaal 48 uur voor de aanwezigheid op het circuit zijn afgenomen.

- Of men moet in het bezit zijn va neen COVID-19 genezingscertificaat. Zo'n genezingscertificaat is geldig vanaf 10 dagen na een positieve PCR-test en heeft een geldigheidsduur van 180 dagen.

Er komt dus nogal wat bij kijken voordat je Max Verstappen en Lewis Hamilton kunt zien racen terwijl je langs de baan staat in België. Door de stortbuien en wateroverlast van deze dagen raakte het circuit en de omgeving flink beschadigd. Of de schade kan worden hersteld voor de Grand Prix, is niet bekend. Wel meldt het circuit de schade, mede aan de constructie onder de baan, op haar website.

De Nurburgring wordt momenteel ingericht als hulpcentrum voor de getroffen slachtoffers van de overstromingen.
Er worden spullen ingezameld zoals kleding, drogisterijspullen, kinderspeelgoed etc en getroffen mensen kunnen terecht in het hotel bij het circuit.
De race activiteiten voor dit weekend zijn allemaal afgezegd en kunnen rekenen op veel begrip (uiteraard)
