Max Verstappen was tijdens een 24-uurs race - een gesimuleerde race in de digitale wereld - bang dat één van zijn katjes achter het rempedaal van zijn thuissimulator zou verdwijnen. "Dan eindigt hij als een pannenkoek."

De Nederlander kan een week nadat hij van de baan is gekegeld door Lewis Hamilton tijdens de Grand Prix van Groot-Brittannië dus weer lachen. Hij was tijdens het spelen van een online-race nogal bezorgd dat een van zijn katjes onder het rempedaal zou gaan zitten, en dat zou dan wel eens vervelend kunnen aflopen voor de snoezige pluizige viervoeter.

Dat blijkt uit een filmpje dat online is verschenen, waarin de Limburger te horen is tijdens het spelen van zijn game. In de video valt te zien hoe er wordt geracet op de digitale versie van Spa-Francorchamps, maar Verstappen kon eventjes niet verder racen vanwege zijn katjes.

Verstapen zegt: "Ik heb even wat technische problemen, want de katten rennen door mijn simulator heen. Ik hoop niet dat er ééntje onder mijn rempedaal gaat zitten, want dan eindigt hij als een pannenkoek". Verstappen onthult de namen van zijn diertje en grapt nog dat hij heeft overwogen om ze Toto en Lewis te noemen, maar dat leek hem uiteindelijk geen goed idee.

Komend weekend mag Verstappen weer echt racen, dan staat de elfde Grand Prix van het seizoen op het programma. Het is waarschijnlijk dat Lewis Hamilton en Max Verstappen elkaar weer zullen treffen op de Hungaroring tijdens de Hongaarse Grand Prix.

  @Jokertje, haal je voldoening uit al jouw reakties? Inhoudelijk reageren schijnt een beetje problematisch te zijn voor jou. Het lijkt er op dat je een flinke verstandelijke beperking hebt. Steek je energie op een postieve manier in dingen ipv negatief je zal zien dat het leven dan een stuk leuker is.
