Sergio Perez is vastbesloten om zijn slechte weekend in Silverstone achter zich te laten en ervoor te zorgen dat hij met een hoogtepunt de zomerstop ingaat. Het raceweekend van de Britse Grand Prix was een van de slechtste van de Mexicaan sinds hij dit jaar bij Red Bull Racing is begonnen.

Hij spinde in de sprintkwalificatie, waardoor hij vanuit de pitlane moest starten maar slaagde er op de racedag niet in om veel hoger te finishen en eindigde op P16. Perez eindigde zo laag omdat het team hem laat in de pits liet komen om de snelste ronde van Lewis Hamilton te pakken, maar zelfs daarvoor reed hij al buiten de punten.

Slecht weekend vergeten

Terwijl de Mexicaan over het algemeen van het sprintformat genoot, wil hij het hele weekend graag vergeten en goed presteren in Hongarije om het goed te maken.

"Silverstone was een slecht weekend voor mij en één om snel te vergeten", zei hij in Honda's preview voor de race in Boedapest. “Ik heb echter genoten van het sprintrace-format. Het vraagt ​​veel meer van de coureurs met twee races en twee starts. Het was zeker anders, dat is zeker."

De Hongaarse Grand Prix is ​​de laatste race van de eerste seizoenshelft, een helft die voor Checo enigszins gemengd is. Hij heeft af en toe indruk gemaakt en won zelfs de race in Bakoe, maar Silverstone was niet het eerste circuit waarop hij geen indruk kon maken.

Technisch downforce circuit

De Red Bull-coureur wil graag van zijn laatste weekend voor de zomervakantie een goed weekend maken om ervoor te zorgen dat hij zijn vrije tijd niet besteedt aan het betreuren van gemaakte fouten.

"De Hungaroring is een zeer uniek circuit en het lijkt erg op Monaco met veel downforce - het is een zeer technisch circuit", voegde hij eraan toe. "Ik kijk ernaar uit om een ​​sterk weekend te hebben tijdens de laatste race voor de zomervakantie. Dat is de enige manier waarop we een goede vakantie kunnen hebben!"

    Ach alweer? Moet zeggen dat ik de beste man erg vind tegenvallen. Maakt veel stomme fouten omdat hij zijn snelheidtekort tegenover Max probeert te overcompenseren. Wordt tijd dat ome Marko hem verteld dat hij tweede man is en niks meer en niks minder.

    Hij moet het echt beter zitten zeker zeer mooie en goeie race bij van check maar het is niet gelijkwaardig dat een rb coureur moet hebben, aanpassen is altijd niet even gemakkelijk maar denk dat dit niet meer de oorzaak kan/zal zijn

    Hij moet gewoon als 4e kwalificeren, dan is er niks aan de hand en kan hij zondag de Mercedes het moeilijk maken. Maar omdat hij steeds als 5e a 6e kwalificeert moet hij compenseren en brengt hij zichzelf in de problemen. Zonde want een potje sturen kan hij wel.
