Max Verstappen: "Ik heb harder getraind dan ooit"

Max Verstappen heeft nog wel wat blauwe plekken na de crash in Silverstone, maar het gaat goed met de Nederlander. "Ik heb harder getraind dan ooit." Dat zegt Max Verstappen tegen de internationale pers in aanloop naar de Hongaarse Grand Prix. 

Verstappen: "De eerste dagen na de crash was ik nog wat beurs, maar het gaat goed. Ik heb harder dan ooit getraind. Aan de uitkomst valt nu toch niet veel meer te veranderen. Zeker het feit dat wij zoveel punten verloren hebben, is jammer. Verder valt er weinig over te zeggen."

Verstappen kijkt liever vooruit, maar ontkomt er niet aan om toch nog even terug te blikken op de veelbesproken crash van twee weken geleden. "Ik kwam hard tegen de muur in Silverstone, dat wil je nooit. Het doel blijft echter om hier gewoon weer een goed weekend te hebben." 

Verstappen zegt dat hij na de crash is gebeld door Lewis Hamilton, maar wat daar precies besproken is wil hij niet vertellen. Zoals GPToday al wist te melden hebben Max Verstappen en Lewis Hamilton elkaar inderdaad gesproken in de week na de crash. "Ja, hij heeft mij gebeld. We hoeven niet op details in te gaan, maar ik kan wel zeggen dat we elkaar gesproken hebben", vertelt Verstappen.

    Wat een onzin komt uit mond van deze jochie!!
    De keren dat hij anderen hun race heeft verziekt, heeft hij niet anders geagendeerd. Wedden dat als het andersom en hij zegeviert in Zandvoort dat hij en het hele volk de winst uitzinnig zullen vieren.

      Zo hard als Max heeft getraind, zo hard zouden anderen eens de Nederlandse taal moeten leren. Maakt mij niet uit, maar dan zou het wat geloofwaardiger overkomen. Gewoon een tip.

    Leuk dat Max zo hard heeft getraind, dat geeft geen enkele garantie, de auto en vooral de Honda motor zullen gaan bepalen of Max een kans heeft, MB heeft de motor settings aangepast er is meer vermogen + de kleinere achter vleugel levert dan een stuk hogere topsnelheid op, wil RB kans maken zal werkelijk ook het vermogen worden opgeschroefd, wellicht een nog iets kleinere achter vleugel indien dit voldoende neerwaartse druk opleverd.

    Goedzo nummer 33, je bent dus positief beïnvloed geworden door Sir Lewis Hamilton. Je hebt nu dus ook geleerd dat je nooit zo’n bocht moet afsnijden, maar ruimte moet laten want je hebt de gevolgen van ingezien.
