Toch een Braziliaanse GP in 2021? 'Volle tribunes, maar mondkapjesplicht'

De Braziliaanse Formule 1 Grand Prix lijkt door te kunnen gaan dit seizoen, ondanks dat eerder werd gevreesd dat de race zou kunnen sneuvelen vanwege de coronapandemie. Tegen alle verwachtingen in klinkt er althans goede hoop vanuit Brazilië wat betreft de race op Interlagos. Vorig jaar kon de GP niet plaatsvinden door corona.

De gouverneur in Sao Paulo Joao Doria vertelde op een persconferentie dat hij uitstel met een week heeft aangevraagd bij de F1. Stefano Domenicali en de zijnen zullen nog in conclaaf zijn over het verzoek om de race opnieuw in te passen in een toch al 'fluïde' F1-agenda van 2021.

De race stond aanvankelijk gepland in het weekend van 7 november. Op 14 november is er een nationale feestdag in het land en daarom zou de organisatie de race liever in dat weekend in de agenda prikken.

Volle tribunes

Het belooft misschien zelfs weer een groot Braziliaans feest te worden aangezien de gouverneur stelt dat het aantal fans langs het Autódromo José Carlos Pace niet zal worden ingeperkt. De gouverneur stelt dat de tribunes op volle capaciteit mogen worden bezet.

Mondkapjesplicht

De Brazilianen juichen zich in dat geval wellicht massaal de longen uit het lijf vanaf de volle tribunes, als de berichten waarheid worden. De zingende, juichende en brullende Brazilianen zullen extra longkracht nodig hebben. De mensen menigte moet verplicht een lapje voor de mond dragen als mondmasker, want mondkapjesplicht.

Op de officiële website van de Formule 1 staat de GP van Brazilië nog altijd op 7 november gepland. Wordt dus ongetwijfeld vervolgd.

Net zoals die mondkapjesplicht om het circuit (niet op de tribunes) in Oostenrijk zeker? Heb er in het hele weekend 3 gezien (personeel niet meegerekend).

  Dat was alleen in het 1e weekend. Ik ben beide weekenden geweest, dus kan er over mee spreken. Je werd in het 1e weekend daadwerkelijk aangesproken als je zonder mondkapje stond. Maar ja, uiteraard allebei een grote grap. Want voor een virus maakt het natuurlijk niet uit of het vóór of ná 1 juli is.
