Alguersuari ontspannen en vol vertrouwen over zijn toekomst

Scuderia Toro Rosso-coureur Jaime Alguersuari scoorde in Canada zijn eerste punten van het seizoen. Dat kwam op een goed moment, want zijn positie begon na een moeizame seizoensstart te wankelen. Testcoureur Daniel Ricciardo staat gereed om in de wagen te springen als Scuderia Toro Rosso een van de rijders aan de kant zet.

Alguersuari boekt dit jaar mindere resultaten dan stalgenoot Sebastien Buemi en dus lijkt de plek van de Spanjaard het meest onzeker. Zelf voelt hij dat helemaal niet zo. Ik heb het vaak gezegd, het team en wij zijn de auto aan het ontwikkelen, we hebben nog veel te leren en de afstelling verdient nog de nodige aandacht. Ik weet niet hoe mijn toekomstperspectieven eruit zien. Ik probeer altijd mijn best te doen en te genieten, want als ik geen plezier beleef zou ik hier niet zijn. Ik ben ontspannen en vol vertrouwen, ik weet waartoe ik in staat ben en ken mijn mogelijkheden. Er is nog veel te leren, veel te zien en hopelijk eindig ik hier weer in de punten. Ik blijf mezelf en de wagen ontwikkelen tot het einde van het jaar.
