Drive to Survive krijgt een nieuw seizoen

De Formule 1 is de afgelopen jaren online steeds zichtbaarder geworden. Een van de meest in het oog springende acties was de samenwerking met streamingsplatform Netflix waar de serie 'Drive to Survive' uit voortkwam.

Vandaag kondigde de Formule 1 aan dat er een vierde seizoen van de Netflixreeks zal komen. De serie gaat haast vanzelfsprekend over het huidige seizoen en zal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid in 2022 op het platform verschijnen.

De serie zorgde ervoor dat Haas-baas Günther Steiner een soort beroemdheid werd maar kreeg ook met de nodige kritiek te maken. Zo zou de serie een te gedramatiseerd beeld geven van sommige situaties. Wel bereikte de sport via de Netflix-serie een geheel nieuw publiek en dat is voor de sport dan weer positief.

De makers hebben in ieder geval geluk met het seizoen 2021. De titelstrijd tussen Max Verstappen en Lewis Hamilton is intens en verder gebeurd er genoeg in het Formule 1-wereldje.
