Alonso: 'Voelde me niet comfortabel'

Het is was een kwalificatie om snel te vergeten voor Fernando Alonso. De Spaanse Alpine coureur werd slechts veertiende. Een teleurstellend resultaat op de kletsnatte baan in Spa.

Na de sessie sprak de tweevoudig wereldkampioen tegen Sky Sports over zijn resultaat: "Ik voelde me niet comfortabel op de baan. Ik voelde dat het heel glad was en dat er heel weinig grip was tijdens mijn rondes."

De Spanjaard hoopt op meer geluk in de race van morgen: "Ik was veertiende in Q1 en ook in Q2. Als de weersomstandigheden voor morgen veranderen liggen er mogelijkheden." Het zal afwachten worden voor de Spanjaard die in het verleden ook zeker een aantal goede regenraces heeft gereden.

Hier spreekt duidelijk een hoop ervaring en het gezonde verstand van een zeer ervaren coureur.
Daar waar de jonge broekjes dat nog wel eens missen en de risico’s nog net even verkeerd inschatten.
Circuits zijn per definitie dan ook niet gevaarlijk, coureurs maken het zelf gevaarlijk.
