Alfa Romeo bedankt fans in statement

Iedereen die iets met de Formule 1 te maken heeft moet nog een beetje bijkomen van het debacle dat de Belgische Grand Prix heet. Veel fans zijn drie uur lang nat geregend terwijl er niks gebeurde. 

Veel coureurs en teams spreken hun waardering uit voor de fans die urenlang geduldig bleven zitten. Ook het team van Alfa Romeo doet dat. In een statement op Twitter bedankt de renstal de fans uitgebreid. "Jullie zijn de echte Drivers of the Day" valt er onder meer te lezen in het statement.

Ook het team van Kimi Räikkönen en Antonio Giovinazzi is van mening dat de genomen beslissing de juiste is: "De keuze om niet te racen was de juiste." Het is een mening die zo goed als elke coureur gister ook liet horen. Tijdens de opwarmingsronde liet alleen Max Verstappen blijken dat er wel geracet kon worden.

Niemand wil een vervolg van de farce van afgelopen weekend. In het statement geeft ook Alfa Romeo dit aan: "We hopen dat er gister wat lessen zijn geleerd, lessen die ons zullen helpen de operatie in de toekomst te verbeteren en die de fans van onze sport in de positie brengen waar ze horen te zijn."

    Risico van het vak/hobby. Ik begrijp dat overdreven teleurgestelde gedoe niet zo. Kan gebeuren. ik heb races gezien die saaier waren dan deze..... en wat is er nu mooier dan over een jaartje of 20 zeggen: ´ik was daar bij´ ?

      Onzin roy, ja risico van het vak. Maar je zou er maar zitten met je kids de hele dag in de kou. Ik zat er ook bij, voor mij geen probleem. Maar indien je hard gespaard hebt om bijv. met 2 kids en partner er eindelijk een keer bij te zijn, dan snap ik het heel erg goed. Verschilt per situatie.

      Nou, ik kan wel een flinke lijst verzinnen, hoor. Ik had achteraf gezien bijvoorbeeld beter een weekendje met juffrouw Z naar Lissabon oid kunnen gaan. Dat is me meer waard dan een stompzinnige anekdote waarmee je kennelijk veel indruk maakt op types als Roy.

      af en toe ben je gewoon even de ´lul´ meestal gaat daar tijd over heen om het te waarderen. Let maar op, Over 20 jaar praten mensen nog steeds over deze race. en als je dan kan zeggen: ´daar was ik´ dan is dat meer waard dan een rukrace die iedereen zomaar heeft meegemaakt.

      Meestal is het zo dat daar tijd overheen moet gaan, Natuurlijk was het niet leuk. Maar over 20 jaar kent iedereen deze race nog en de gemiddelde ´spannende´ race niet meer.
