Honda topman: "De sfeer is vergelijkbaar met Suzuka!"

Max Verstappen heeft Nederland de afgelopen jaren in een echt raceland omgeturnd. Met als kers op de taart de eerste Nederlandse Grand Prix in jaren tijd vanmiddag. Iedereen in de paddock is ondersteboven van de Nederlandse sfeer en het circuit.

Ook Honda-topman Toyoharu Tanabe is louter positief over het Oranjelegioen in Zandvoort. De motorleverancier van Red Bull kijkt in gesprek met AS-web terug op de afgelopen dagen: "Er stonden rijen mensen bij de ingang. Het is vergelijkbaar met Suzuka. Vanaf dinsdag of woensdag ademt de hele stad van Suzuka de sfeer van de Grand Prix."

En Tanabe ziet dat er soort gelijke taferelen plaatsvinden in de Noord-Hollandse kustplaats: "Toen de eerste dag van het weekend begon waren de tribunes al vol en was het publiek al enthousiast aan het juichen. Elke keer als Max langs kwam deed het publiek de wave. Voor mij persoonlijk voelde het als Suzuka. Ik zou al die energie graag omzetten in meer snelheid en ik kijk uit naar de race."
