Andreas Seidl: "Comeback van Dutch Grand Prix een sensationele show"

Waar het oranje legioen een fantastische middag beleefde was het een mindere dag voor het oranje gekleurde team. McLaren zag dat Lando Norris als tiende over de finishlijn kwam met direct achter hem Daniel Ricciardo.

Op de teamsite kijkt teambaas Andreas Seidl terug op de feestdag in Zandvoort: "Dat was veel hard werk voor 1 puntje. Het was de race die we verwachtten, als je kijkt naar onze startpositie en hoe we moeite hadden met het tempo dit weekend. We hebben ons best gedaan en alles gegeven. De coureurs en hun crew hebben heel goed samengewerkt om te kijken of we meer konden bereiken."

Daarnaast was ook Seidl enorm te spreken over het Nederlandse publiek: "In een breder perspectief was de comeback van de Dutch Grand Prix een sensationele show met de Nederlandse fans op de tribunes die het heet speciaal maakten. Ik weet zeker dat het een hoogtepunt was voor iedereen op de baan."

    Seidl geeft verborgen kritiek. Het was meer een show dan een race. De huidige F1 bazen omarmen dit. Het past bij hun strategie. Maar Seidl heeft een punt. Daarom moeten circuits zoals Spa en Silverstone gekoesterd worden. Dan houden we variatie in de F1. De sport moet de overhand houden op de show.

      Het was een tactische race en daar stopte het ook. Voor de coureurs een heel gaaf circuit maar voor mij persoonlijk vind ik er niks aan.

      Het was spannend meer de actie was inderdaad beperkt. Toch denk ik dat we volgend jaar meer actie gaan zien. De coureurs kennen de baan dan beter en weten dan ook beter waar je wel wat kunt proberen.

      Het was geen spectaculaire race, maar de race was wel spannend. Max en Lewis zijn (afgezien van de pitstops) nooit meer dan 10 seconden van elkaar verwijderd geweest. 1 klein foutje en we hadden een andere winnaar.
      Daarnaast zou inhalen onmogelijk zijn op Zandvoort, maar toch heb ik op meerdere plekken mensen ingehaald zien worden.
      Tarzan bocht, zowel binnen- als buitenom, Voor Hans-Ernst, ook binnen- en buitenom, op het rechte stuk en ook in Hugenholz waren er een paar dappere pogingen.
      Al met al gewoon een leuke race geweest, met de gedroomde winnaar, waardoor de show ook groots werd.

      Beetje triest om zo te reageren, @Arone. Ondanks de mooie show en overwinning van Max is het nooit fout om een beetje objectief te blijven.

      Hopelijk leggen ze volgend jaar wel een CD op met het volkslied, de versie die werd gezongen tijdens de podiumceremonie was precies een kat die in de fik stond.

      @gridiron, misschien is het verstandig om.je vehoor even te laten testen op gigantische gehoorschade?
      Met zo'n commentaar kan het niet anders dan dat je geheel doof bent en daarom geen kwaliteit meer kan onderscheiden van kattengejank.
