'MGU-H verdwijnt in de toekomst uit F1 om nieuwe fabrikanten toe te laten treden'

Volgens The Race en Auto, Motor und Sport krijgen Volkswagen en Red Bull Racing het mogelijk voor elkaar om een ingewikkeld onderdeel van de huidige F1-motoren in de toekomst te verbannen uit de F1. Dat zou de weg vrij maken voor nieuwe autofabrikanten om toe te treden tot de wereld van de Formule 1.

In 2025 zou een nieuw motorreglement moeten ingaan, maar volgens de genoemde media zou dat nu uitgesteld kunnen worden tot 2026. Red Bull Racing zou een samenwerking kunnen aangaan met Volkswagen. Die Duitse autofabrikant zou al een tijdje interesse hebben in het toetreden tot de F1 met hun VW Group.

MGU-K en MGU-H

Formule 1-krachtbronnen anno 2021 zitten complex in elkaar. Zo is er het onderdeel dat energie opslaat die vrijkomt tijdens het remmen en omzet in kracht bij het optrekken. Dat component wordt de MGU-K genoemd. Ook is er het onderdeel MGU-H dat warmte van de verbrandingsmotor omzet in energie. Dit laatste onderdeel zou eventueel komen te vervallen als de nieuwe motorreglementen worden uitgeschoven naar 2026. Het zou de weg vrijmaken voor Red Bull en Volkswagen om een samenwerking aan te gaan in de Formule 1.

Politieke krachten

Tot nu toe zouden andere partijen in de F1 geen oren hebben naar het schrappen van de MGU-H, omdat zij de afgelopen jaren zoveel hebben geïnvesteerd in dit technische vernuft. Dit weekend zouden de betrokken partijen enigszins in beweging komen en zou de MGU-H wellicht van de baan zijn in de toekomst. Tijdens de Italiaanse Grand Prix zitten betrokken partijen weer om tafel om één en ander te bespreken. Eerder al kwamen de partijen in Oostenrijk bij elkaar om eveneens het motorenreglement voor de toekomst te bespreken.

Vertrek Honda vergroot het belang nieuwkomers

Eind dit jaar verdwijnt Honda uit de Formule 1 en dus zou de sport baat hebben bij de komst van nieuwe merken in de F1.

Nieuwe fabrikanten en minder kosten als je kijkt naar de budgetcap. Ook een betere betrouwbaarheid en minder kans op gridstraffen. Zitten best veel voordelen aan.

  Maar van mij mag het ook op de schop.
  Met al die Mercedes- en Ferrari-teams loopt het de spuigaten uit.
  
  Ben ook voor wat @Schwantz wenst.
  
  Dat komt met meer fabrikanten ook een stapje dichterbij en dat heeft weer als voordeel dat er meer ruimte is om rookies te laten instromen.

F1 moet technisch hoogstaand zijn tegen redelijk kosten. VW wil voor een dubbeltje toetreden en weinig omhanden hebben om een motor te maken.. blijf maar lekker weg dan

  Biodiversiteit in de natuur is noodzakelijk voor de natuur om überhaupt n goede toekomst te hebben. Maar motordiversiteit is dat in de F1. F1 raakt uitgehold van binnen als er weer n grote naam opstapt. Men mòet n charme offensief opzetten. Meer soorten, meer auto’s.. Met jouw dubbeltje op de eerste rang opmerking ga je veel te kort door de bocht.
  Denk aan de tracklimits..😉

  Of VW echt wil toetreden is ook nog maar de vraag, zie hun ruzie met Bernie toen ze wel eisen stelden voor V4 motoren maar toch voor het WRC kozen
