Seidl kijkt met interesse naar titelstrijd: "Misschien kunnen we profiteren"

Na de crash tussen Max Verstappen en Lewis Hamilton reed het team van McLaren relatief simpel naar een 1-2 overwinning op het Italiaanse circuit. De Britse formatie profiteerde optimaal en coureurs Daniel Ricciardo en Lando Norris betraden stralend het podium. 

Het zou McLaren dan ook niet slecht uitkomen als er in de toekomst meerdere ongelukkige samenkomsten van Verstappen en Hamilton zijn. McLaren teambaas Andreas Seidl spreekt zich hierover uit in gesprek met de Duitse zender RTL: "Ik volg de titelstrijd absoluut met als een fan en ook met spanning en misschien kunnen we profiteren van één of twee incidenten van tussen de twee."

Het zou nog beter voor McLaren zijn als ze zich in de titelstrijd kunnen mengen. Met de gloednieuwe regels die eraan komen is die kans natuurlijk altijd aanwezig. Seidl wil echter nog niet mee doen aan deze gedachtes: "Moeilijk om te zeggen. Natuurlijk gaan we er alles aan doen om zo dicht mogelijk bij die twee teams te komen volgend jaar maar we kunnen niet toveren. Onze windtunnel is eind 2022 af. De eerste auto die we ontwikkelingen in die nieuwe windtunnel is de wagen voor 2024."

      Je moet er wel rijden om ervan te kunnen profiteren, dan erbij voor het incident reden beide McLarens virtueel 1 en 2 na de mislukte stop van Max.

      Of dat het een heel krankjorem seizoen wordt met Russell die profiteert van een slagveld op Sochi waarbij hij wint met Williams waarbij de titelrivalen uitvallen. Vervolgens Max een klassiek geval van verveleritus krijgt en de rest van het seizoen laat schieten, Hamilton die uitglijdt over het speeltje van Roscoe en ook de rest van het seizoen niet in actie komt, Russell de plek van Hamilton overneemt en de volle pond pakt in alle te komen evenementen en zowel Norris als Bottas regelmatig last krijgen van de onmenselijke druk waardoor zij niet optimaal profiteren en het podium soms missen. Waarbij Russell in dat geval eindigt op 226 punten, achter Max met 226,5 punten, maar voor Hamilton met 221,5.

      Ik zou er voor tekenen ;)
